Dont think city is that interested in paying anymore for a player that wont even make the bench....maybe they want him for their U21 bench and wont spend over the top for players....
Man City are after a cheap replacement for their bench, our huw is just reminding them that the days of Swansea City giving players away are long gone, walcott will stay with the gooners, mancini will be back before friday with the required 7million our huw is no mug i have total trust in the man. You show em huw.
I see on Sky Sports that Walcott has reached an agreement with Arsenal that he won't leave in this transfer window, so will that now make Man City go for Sinclair?
I trust him too mabon - his track record is fantastic, though less convincing on timing and paperwork. If by "showing 'em" he nets us an extra £800,000 then great - that's why he's Chairman and I'm not. But this could backfire and keeping a player who doesn't want to be here just to make a point seems crazy. How can anyone realistically rate Sinclair higher than £6.2M? Hopefully it'll all work out. Now it looks like Hernandez is on his way maybe this deal will go through more smoothly.
Our Huw is testing their resolve, its very close to the end of the window citey are low on english born players and mancini is getting frustrated with very few incoming players, it could backfire like you said but i have a feeling that our huw is edging his bets and may have an inkling that citey will be back with an improved offer for him.
Mind you Talksport this evening mentioned this transfer and were saying in their opinion it would be a bad move for Sinclair given who we have in charge and that he should stay, learn and develop. It's ok, I rang up and told them to mind their own fcuking business!
I think terror is right...with £15 million in the bank I expect a £6-7 million bid from Fulham maybe even 2mz
Just a thought, but what if Jenkins has been deliberately stalling over the Sinclair transfer to enable him to play hardball with Valencia? It's been stated we didn't need the cash from Sinclair to buy Hernandez, but if Valencia knew that we desperately needed to replace Sinclair we'd pay that much more. With them thinking that there is prospect of Sinclair staying, the ball is very much in Jenkins's court
I agree, but this is a very dangerous game. If Sinclair doesn't go now but leaves in January we'll lose about £4M imo. I'm hoping that true to form Huw knows what he's doing on this. Getting in Hernandez (if it happens) may have the reverse effect as other clubs will know we're looking to actively offload Sinclair. Laudrup has made it plain about his desire to reduce the squad size after all. I'm in agreement with most of you because Huw usually plays a blinder but I just hope we're not going to lose out because he's playing a 'don't-push-us-around' game. Swallow your pride and take the dosh, I say.
Thing is, I think most clubs are aware that we're keen to offload Sinclair as opposed to leaving for free next year. Maybe a deal has been done with Man city which is why he hasn't got in the squad for the last two games after coming off the bench in the first game. All I'm saying is, I'd be amazed if Huw is being in any way reckless in all this.
You're right, SA9. His track record is excellent in wheeling and dealing but my main concern comes down to the widely reported figure of £6.2M being rejected. If that's right I'm shocked. Knowing Huw he'll sell him to Fulham for £8M.
I suppose she was just being honest. Nothing wrong with that. Don't think Manchester's much better though.
