Football is pretty much year-round, nowadays. Especially when you're an International representing your country. Something will clash, no matter what.

Besides - your lady must be very understanding, eh?
And you've never been with Latin women, have you?

Tramore, those blokes you mention. Are they on 2.6 million pounds a year?

What has money got to do with it? Everything. (Doesn't it always?) The man is incredibly fortunate to have a career that allows him earn massive amounts of money that will no doubt be used to furnish his offspring with the very best life can offer. And more luck to him.

However, such good fortune should come with one or two sacrifices. (Extremely small ones considering those who can barely keep a roof over their heads may not be in a position to attend their children's birth either.) His wife is over on the other side of the World having a baby. Let her to it. He's signed up to responsibilities here which will enable him and his family live a life of luxury in comparison to most others. Again, more luck to the man. I wish him well. But only a generation ago and probably still in most parts of the World, men had/have to keep hard at work to provide for their wife and child while she's giving birth. There was none of this "she needs me for support" crock of sh*t. Women were proper women back then an' all. Now they're all tears and mush. And the modern man ain't far behind them.

Basically what I'm saying is, given footballers' unique positions, they can't have it every fooking way surely?

***NEWS FLASH*** Footballer turns out to be a human being and wants to be with his wife and new born.

Football is a job, all be it a very well paid one and there is more to life then work, anyone who wouldn't take time off work to see their new born child doesn't deserve to have any!!

Afraid they can Swordsie, no doubt their agents would be spouting their rights to paid time off under the Maternity Laws which are for both parents. It's a good job he's not claiming his full entitlement otherwise you'd be having a seizure!...

I'd best reign myself in Soops. I'm sounding like a bit of an Ian Derthal

I'd look happy too if I was pocketing 50 big ones every week. I wouldn't be able to wipe the grin off my face!

Yes, truth is that anyone earning the 'big bucks' these guys are on and general business use diaries.
Anyone who has made a dollar or two live by diaries.

You plan your work and you work your plan .......... it is that simple it seems ........... except if your a footballer.

    Most definitely this

If I hadn't turned up to the birth of my son I doubt that Ms SQPR would ever have spoken to me again

    On second thoughts......
