Talk of a board meeting later today, with Tan flying in to watch the Liverpool match.

That must mean he expects Malky not to be in charge tomorrow.

Watching the game - at Anfield or on a tv far away from any City fans?

If at Anfield, our reaction will be very interesting.

All of this explains why he wasn't at the Baggies game. Also, looking at the tv clips of him and Malky together on the pitch after games the hand shakes/hugs have been very abrupt with little/no eye contact. It all tells a story.

Monday morning after the Man City game the first thing my Dad said in work was "great result, did you see Tan and Malky after though? They walked straight past each other, there's problems there!"

What an astute Dad. Wish my daughter could say the same for me. Lol!!!

Yes, this could all be much more deep rooted than we know at present.

Looks like this could be a game of who blinks first.

None of this any good for the club and team.

It's all in Tan's hands. He has to sack him or put this media **** storm to bed.

Tell you what, what concerns me reading the press today is who will take over?

The idea of this failed Turkish manager (22 clubs in 27 years) who has never managed in Britain, and Dave Jones as a director of football is scary beyond belief.

    Agreed Nin.

That would just show how f**king mental Tan is.

However, if it was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that would put a slightly different complexion on things and give some evidence of progressive thought. But would OGS want such a potentially poisened chalice.

I'm sure the Turkish guy wouldn't give a damn as he appears to have made a career out of getting sacked and moving on. He probably has Chairmen's boot prints embedded in his backside.

I know I'm not being negative enough about this for some people on here, but I just don't believe the Turkish guy story.

He'll be looking for someone to deliver the brand of football he wants to see, if the email is to be believed.

Tan loses more than anyone if he ****s this up, he might be making a Venky's/Charlton type mistake but there's only one way any of us will find out if that's the case.

From the earlier statement made by Mehmet Dalman, didn't he suggest us to be on the look out for a "grey haired experienced man" as a DOF for the manager to "bounce ideas" off?

If so, that could be done prior to any new manager/head coach appointment. In fact, that could already be in the bag but kept under wraps. Bump Malky out as it looks like he ain't going to walk, and this "grey haired" character could assume control for the time being. He'd could advise and work with Dalman and Tan to get the right "head coach" for the club.

The problem with that is there are potential candidates who would baulk at such a system of not being in control of team and player acquisition affairs.

Bit of a rum do all round, but I doubt Tan has just had a fit of pique - he's been working on this for a while.

    Here we go..........

"Cardiff owner Vincent Tan will decide in the coming hours whether to sack boss Malky Mackay before or after Saturday's league match at Liverpool.

Tan is flying to the United Kingdom having told Mackay to resign or face being dismissed - and Mackay has repeatedly said he will not walk away.

Chairman Mehmet Dalman has a preferred candidate to succeed the 41-year-old and Tan's permission to strike a deal.

The target is understood to be a household name at another British club.

Dalman, who has failed in his attempts to make peace between Tan and Mackay, plans to open talks immediately and make an appointment in the coming days.

Tan was considering a role for Dave Jones as manager or director of football, but the Malaysian businessman has decided against proceeding with that idea."

Household name at a British club?

    Lennon?

If he's being sacked that article suggests they have a very strong idea/agreement in place for the replacement.

Where has this sudden stream of inside info to the bbc come from. Do you think Tan is purposefully releasing this? The household name thing does seem aimed at calming the fans.

This is all disgusting and an absolute joke. I have tried to ignore all the crap that has come with this owner, but I have had enough.

We will go down this year if Mackay is sacked. Not because of the manager himself but because the whole feeling at the club will plummet.

Tan is a git. This guy is all ego. Every decision he makes is about him.

**** him. If this is our celebration of Premiership football, I would rather do without. Grinning and bearing it just sucks.

Not necessarily so. Plenty of time for a new man to keep us on the right path - maybe even change it for the better.

The sentiments about Tan are understandable with all this **** flying about, but Malky isn't God and has made some mistakes.

I'm not in any way saying he deserves the boot, but this is, as you say, all about Tan and his perception of "success".

The fact MM will be 'pennyless' in the transfer market whereas Tan would be far more inclined to back a new manager, not least to save face for himself, could actually increase our chances our chances of staying up with the right man put in his place.

Again, I'm not saying MM should go, just that life goes on and we may well be ok.

Accepting that we, the fans, may be mollified by the appointment of a new manager who "some stripes up" I am absolutely disgusted by Tan's treatment of Malky. He probably treats his dog better.

"will decide in the coming hours whether to sack boss Malky Mackay before or after Saturday's league match at Liverpool".

He will probably keep him dangling and might even resort to a public humiliation because Malky, quite rightly, wants his contract paid off and will not resign. I hope Malky responds in the proper Glaswegian manner, wallop, have some of that ya wee sla..y eyed, buck toothed weevil!!!!

Some pundits cite the example of Southampton. National and local outcry at Adkins' sacking for someone nobody had heard of and who didn't speak English.

He kept them up and spent brilliantly pre season BUT is this likely to be repeated?
