I think our upturn in fortunes had more to do with how Curbs spent the Bowyer money than King Carlos departure. Mills, Youds and some bloke called Clive. Leaburn is a Charlton 'legend' precisely because no thought he was that good. He always put in a shift though.
Carlo was a better player than some gave him credit for. He wasn't the best, agreed, and his scoring record was pretty poop, but as a target man he was superb. He is a million times better than Benson and a trillion times better than the likes of Abbott and that big lump we got from West Ham on loan last season. He is now working as a security guard at Canary Wharf with the odd bit of radio work thrown in. Still a legend in my red rose tinted glasses.
