The team for the Euros gets picked on the 10th I think? So by the end of tomorrow all players can't prove themselves on the pitch for selection anymore.

I think it was Stuart Pearce who said he'd pick the squad on the 10th if no permanent manager had been selected! Don't know if RH is going with that date or not! <ok>

Thanks! <ok> Isn't the deadline for team selection for all teams set by UEFA as 24th May?

I thought Holts performance yesterday was one of his best ever for us. He caused panic in their ranks not only for his well known physical presence which according to some Arsenal supporters bordered on GBH, but his link play with the less skilled but equally effective Jackson was full of vision and no little flair.
Most footballers/are overrated by the media and of course Holt is as well. We have a shortage of international class strikers at the moment and the only way we will ever now is if he ever plays.
I imagine we will name 5 or 6 strikers in the Euro squad and Ronney has already been given one of those. If there are 5 more to pick, statistics, logic and form says that Holt should be one of them.

Binner fans should be ignored and treated with contempt when it comes to football debate.

They wear the blinkers of jealousy and underachievement.

I do football debate with those they have the intelligence to do so and you hampy are clearly not on that list due to your many posts of inaccurate rubbish.

I see you and most of your fellow Ipswich fans as symbols of ridicule and should be mocked.

If you were to accept your club's football standing graciously and congratulate Norwich on their terrific achievements of this season in a similar way to JWM in his earlier post then I will happily treat you with more respect.

As I said on another thread, when you consider how little we paid for GH compared to the ransoms paid for other Premier League forwards, he must represent the best value for money ever!!!!

Would that be the Rooney who got sent off against Portugal for his ridiculous stamp on Carvalho in the 2006 World Cup? Or the same Rooney who got sent off against Montenegro for his crazy and unnecessary tackle on Dzudovic, both costing us dearly??

I'd say that Rooney is far more of a "wildcard" than Holt would be for England...

Holt at least deserves a shot at an England friendly, anyone who thinks otherwise just doesn't get football.

14 EPL goals in his debut season playing for an unfashionable club! Imagine how many goals he would score if he had world class service from players like Aguero and Silva. I reckon he would be on at least 25.

Rooney has only been booked once this season and has matured so that's about as bad as argument as you will ever hear. The fact that the budgies have jumped all over that comment has poured cold water over their arguments too.

I remember seeing Rooney in Man City game and wondering why he wasn't booked though. Fact is, he's a Man United player so he has immunity to bookings. Although, in seriousness I would admit Holt's temper is more likely to boil over than Rooney's.

Holt isn't a player who's blood would boil unlike Rooney. If there is ever an occasion where it might happen Holt just walks away.

I did see that stat of Rooney only being booked once this season for Man Ure, but I've seen enough Man Ure games this season, (not all of them, I'll admit), where Rooney has made rash tackles that have certainly deserved a yellow card...

And then there was that off the ball incident with James McCarthy against Wigan just over a year ago...

I doubt that Rooney has matured, there's still a petulant side to his game that rears it's head when things are not going his way, and some might say that he needs that if he's to be on top of his game, but I'd still say that for England he's a bit of a loose cannon, could score a wonder goal to win us a match, or equally get red carded for a two footed tackle from behind in the center circle if things are not going England's way...

    He's got form for it...
