58000 now , hopefully a lot of people on here have signed , if not it only takes a minute even if you only ever want to sit at football matches this is a better solution than the current system
Will be a waste of time, unfortunately. Some of the comments are unbelieveable. Only 5% want it? This is aloegedly based on asking if people want to stand all the time. Presumably in a survey conducting amongst corporate members and those in the best seats. They need more time to look at how it works? It has worked for years in Germany. The Germany that is the country with the highest average gates. If 25,000 can stand safely at Dortmund, and have beer served whilst doing so, what problems would there be with the 3, 4 or 5,000 here? If implemented there should be an understanding there is a crackdown on members standing up elsewhere. Babs and here members would approve of that. So basically we should carry onnwith a system which causes a lot of aggravation and arguments. Of course the copper quoted comes out with clueless nonsense. Like the local one who asked if we wanted a return to the dangers of surges down the terraces. Do these people have no knowledge of what safe standing actually entails? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...vernment-opposition-safe-standing-trials.html
the people who make the decisions clearly don't go to games the amount of people who stand at games would be the people who stand in ' safe standing areas' which is a few thousand and that's how many railed seats would be built.. not the whole ****ing stadium except the rail seats will be safer because there's barriers between each row, it's clearly not an old terrace where there's a small barrier every 5-10 rows standing at current matches, the only barrier is a tiny seat in front of you which wouldn't stop you falling into the row infront, which i've seen happen it's bonkers stupid and frankly moronic really grinds my gears ****s
Just watched the Stan Collymore football program on RT (Russian Television) all about the Hillsborough disaster and safe standing. Very good piece and worth watching if you can. Learnt that 41 of the 96 weren't from Liverpool or even Merseyside. They showed some Liverpool fans who visited Celtic to see for themselfs safe standing.
Palace have asked their fans to sign the petition. More clubs should do this https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43873619
plodding slowly somewhere I suppose sadly this lack of sign up seems to support that Government stance that not many people want it real shame
Or social media? The sad fact is, many people are just lazy and want someone else to sort it for them.
Huh? It's not a Football Forum thing, it's a petition on the Parliamentary Website It's been widely discussed outside of Football Forums, I've seen it on plenty of Social Media platforms This forum is probably the only one keeping score though? (90400+ now so if it gets another 9600 or so it will be debated in parliament)
