Not sure if my tongue in cheek pop at the Mods, has brought this on. (As people were saying they shouldn't comment, lets not forget they are SAFC supporters first and Mods second. ) You can have discussions on here about anything you want, the Mugs are fair game, but I think we all agree abusing a fellow Mackem is not on unless he is a twat like BC. Even in the old days of the what you would call "anarchy" boards they needed Mods. If we had no Mods what would you suggest we do in the following scenarios? Just off the top of my head. Child pornography. Posting someone's name and address so others could physically attack them. Either of the above are sure fire ways to have a forum closed down and the Admin to lose all monies invested. Like I have said before just because they are Mods doesn't remove their right to an opinion. (Even if most of the time their opinions are inane ramblings. )
That still doesn't get away from the fact that you are all a bunch of twats................... I just couldn't resist.
There's mods on the chans mate. ( In the beginning of the net there were some horrendous sites, they wouldn't last long now as governments go after the hosts. ) Everyones main problem is keeping out the *****s. It's getting harder and harder to hide on the internet.
With out the mods this would not be an appropriate place for all ages. I agree that the BBC mods were over the top, however I think we had the balance about right in here. We all live in a community and we need to repect each other, if we dont we get into trouble. Down the pub you might get tumped or have a charge of breach of the peace brought against you. On the internet you are still subject to the laws of liable and slander. all it needs is for one idiot to say some thing which gets the court to close down the site andthen we have no whereto go for a debate about our club. So in short we need the mods if you want a site with out mods set one up which is a closed site which can only be read by members over the age of 18. Rant over
I agree with that bit but try as I may I cant stop Dorset and his ramblings Thats why we try to keep Jersey under wraps
