Horner popping up mid-race was hugely irritating for me: who wants to listen to the sound of an arse being licked while they're trying to watch a race?! I believe it was Sky and I hope it was just a one-off.
I agree Horner has not helped Vettel's popularity. Then again, the same might apply to Helmut Marko, although he is perhaps less visible. However, Vettel's ability is surely now beyond doubt. Despite various favourable circumstances, he has been crowned World Champion four times in succession and has won the last eight races. Simply sublime â by any standard⦠Those who boo should be ashamed of themselves in the shadow of greatness.
It was all good up to the tyres changing mid-season. When such a fundamental change happens, the teams can't change their cars enough to make them work properly. It just so happened for RBR that the old style tyres suited their car far better, since when Vettel has not looked back and made devastating use of this advantage.
It's funny that, with all the tenth-gaining technological trickery that they and we obsess over, it was something as basic as this on which the season turned. Red Bull must have known that they had a killer car all along; think of how Horner pushed and snitched and did whatever it took to get things changed. So full marks to little Jack, although the memory of him sat squealing in the corner of the 'Tyregate' tribunal is not an edifying one.
People were just jealous of his overall race winning performance. He has had the most complete package compared to all the other racers this year, and for the past few years to be honest.
wasn't Senna the same? split from his wife because she was a distraction? Although TBH Vettel doesn't seem the type to keep it in his trousers.
