Why do we value our players on the 'reduced rail'?

The answer is simple. London prices you know. :emoticon-0105-wink: ZAHA plays for a London club and Stewart does not. <ok>

Please dont even bring up the Turner fiasco again though. In saying that Turner is not worth even what we got for him at the moment. He was dire for Norwich @ Fulham. Gave away the penalty and was to blame for 2 of the goals, imo.

We sold Deano to Aberdeen for £700-800k, which wasn't a bad fee in 1995 and we did at least just about get our money back on Hunt and Mouyokolo. When we started dealing in some serious money, we spent it on players with little, or no, re-sale value, with the obvious exception of Turner.

We've obviously changed that now, Chester is probably worth at least ten times what we paid for him, Koren and Aluko have value and were free, Evans, Dudgeon and Stewart are all worth more than we paid for them and it only really takes one good season for their values to rise significantly.

If we're just listing players we made a profit on, Bo cost us £50k and we sold him for £1.5mil, pretty decent business that was. (Not to mention the 250 odd games he played for us in the process).

When did Cammy Stewart hit his peak then ? I would suggest that Stewart is a long way from reaching his peak. Over to the coaching staff now.

It's pretty hard to judge Cameron given he only recently got over a horrible injury, I would hazard a guess that we are lucky to have a player of his ability

Well said. Far too many judge far to quickly. Give him a chance. For sure Stewart looks much better than last season imo. Aluko is leading by example. Watch Cammy follow but it will take time.

The point I was making was that we never make a 'huge' profit on a player.
Obviously we've made significant profits on individual players in the past, but what is the highest fee we sold a player for compared to the huge prices other Championship clubs often get?
We always seem to be sensible with our valuations whereas others ask for astronomical profits and settle for huge ones.

I honestly believe that without Folan we never would've been promoted. So £1million for his was a bargain compared to the likes of Ghilas and Olofinjana.

I think the simple answer, is that in the period since transfer fees have got to ridiculous levels, we've never had an owner rich enough to take advantage.

We spent that cash on Ricketts, Turner, Bridges and Forster. Phil Brown signed Folan and we used the Cocca Cola money

Has Stewart ever been at his peak? I think he is a very lucky lad at the moment. I cant think of any player for a long time that has been given as many chances as he has. Quite how he is still first choice is beyond me. I suppose that the odds are that at sometime in the future he is due a good game.

Junior Lewis played 39 games for us in one season...
Cam was played despite poor form last season as we had very few options, he looked good against Brighton for me. I think he'll get 5/6 goals this season and have an impressive campaign. I'd have him in the team over Elmohamady.

Didn't we do well on Stuart Pearson? Sad that we have to think so far back. I'm probably wrong though!

Sold to Man u for not sure what.

But we did get 100k for Chris Chilton when he was knackered when we sold him to Coventry.
