I think a lot of you are missing the point big style. There is banter but, then there is incitment or provocation as in 'no surrender' or what happened at Man whoo. What the heck has that got to do with banter. If they want that maybe they should go to underground fist fights or no holds barred.

Nob, is someone who continues to write stuff without appearing to understand what the topic is actually about, it's a widely used term in forums for this issue.

when it gets to a point of provoking the other fans and inciting violence, then ive usually seen those removed from the stands. again, boring and pointless!

you're asking why they go....they go cos they are Leeds fans, they are there supporting the club and enjoying themselves

stop pretending your original post had some 'big message' just because we dont all agree with you

That's all that was asked and if you read the post you will hopefully see that, what occurrs after is like all debates, people add their points and others join in.

How do you know how I was asking the question? Or is it, this is my interpretation so it must be right? Get off your horse, you have no idea how I asked the question, except from what I have stated, so either join debate and add your own thoughts or leave this topic alone. By the way, your responses are making my office laugh, I did inform them that there was a group of Leeds fans that lived in a world that has long since passed, but thankfully they were now in the minority.

i'll write it again for you, i do not stand there shouting the kind of abuse you are refering to, however up to a point if a section of fans want to, then so what? maybe you still have some haggis up your back side?

"My main gripe isn't really about the songs, even though they were annoying, it was the fact these guys spent the whole game doing everything except watching the game, one of them actually got annoyed with me for not joining him in his humor, but for daring to be interested in the football!"

I think this sentence covers the main point of the post. I'm in agreement, why pay if your not going to watch!
I like a drink at games and to get quite merry but I know where the line is. Let them have their banter but when it becomes offensive or aggressive then something needs to be done or said.

It's easy to speculate that the fans in question carried on drinking and had some good natured banter with the locals or on the flip side they got aggressive and started intimidating people. If I'm out round town and there's 25+ lads singing and been over boisterous in a pub I become very aware of impending trouble especially if there are other groups of lads about.

But i'm sure people will disagree with me, after all this is a discussion forum!

bigfatboab, tbh i agree with sww, it ends up creating an atmosphere and if leeds fans start signing stand up if you hate man u i stand up and sing with them, its all about the atmosphere for me, i do not yell abuse and things like that but you do need to accept that your in a public environment with not many restrictions, its gonna happen so i would just leave it if i were you
