If you believe the papers Ozil wasn't available until right at the end of the window. By the time the story came out after the NLD it sounds like the transfer was already pretty far progressed.

Where would he have played for you, surely it would have meant dropping Oscar?
 
I guess the point is that he probably wasn't available till the 11th hour when the Bale deal went through. I think he is a better player than Willian but not as versatile and we already have Oscar and Mata in the '10' role.
 
Hes not that far above what we have already, and Oscar, Hazard, De Bruyne and Schurrle are all very young. No worries.

I see it as poetic justice that Levy trying to block our deals with Madrid ended up with Spurs missing out on Willian and Arsenal signing Ozil
