Can't see Rangel playing on the wing! If Guidolin has no faith in Montero, then I would prefer either Kenji Gorre or Emnes given a go.
Tbh, I don't think we'll see much of Monty in a Swans shirt. Since Monk has gone he's only featured in the FA Cup game. He'll be gone in the summer. Something must have happened?? How I'd love to see both Barrow and Monty in full flight down our wings.
It does seem strange - unless they are keeping him out of the cold and rain, and are waiting for the sun on his back for him to shine...
Lethargic you say! Well when we come out at half time, we look like we have had a heavy dose of Prozac, it's why we concede our lead so early in games, and it's getting a rather tedious habit that makes our normal Prozac play even more frustrating. When you reflect on the Everton game, you will see we played a high intensity, high pressure game with pace, so it's clear we can do it, and clearly Franco set the agenda for both games, so why he decided to take the pressure off, and not play with pace and intensity against Palace only he knows, but my concern is defence, we seem to give away our lead with schoolboy defensive errors especially at set pieces, where we don't even get the basics right, such as covering the back post, for me there are also questions of fitness and concentration, we lose our focus far too often this season, it's been refered to by football pundits as our 'soft underbelly' and Franco has a job sorting it out in my view as it's been with us from the time Rodgers left..........
Montero is another let down/dissapointment. I don't think your far from the truth Taff, it seems that Monty has been found out to be a fair weather (meant literally) player who cant handle the wet/cold. Apart from 1 or 2 games where he's excelled the rest he's been average to poor. He's another let down imo, of Gomis proportions. I'd let Ferr in before Monty right now, or Emnes, he deserves a chance . Barrow on the other side has taken his chance and proved himself to be a player. Monty has had his chance and has let it slip imo I doubt we'll see much more of him, not until the weather breaks, but hopefuly by then we'll have sold him to Spain or Italy where he can play in the sun.
If You look at every ball that comes into the box, nobody is there. All the top teams have at least one player who gets into the 6 yard area. It is just simple football you have to be there. If you look at most of the goals we concede they are scored this way either set piece or open play.
