Agreed. I totally agree with people calling him inconsistent, but no way is he lazy. He puts in a substantially better defensive shift than he predecessors, Chamberlain and Antonio (although Chamberlain did certainly improve as last season progressed in terms of tracking back etc).

I think if he is played up front you won't notice as many mistakes and therefore not get on his back so much.

Playing in midfield as he has for most of the season his job is to supply and create in the main and therefore if he doesn't you notice.

Playing up front that is not as much his job and so you don't notice a much plus the forwards will see less of the ball than the midfield.

On Saturday you saw his strengths. More so than Lambert his movement and positioning is superb. They are 2 very different front men.

Yes they are both big strong lads however Lambert is all about power and strength. Many of his goals are with defenders on top of him where he beats them to the finish.

Do Prado doesn't score those goals because his game is about losing his marker hence it looks like he scores goals because of bad defending. That first header on Saturday was a prime example. Forget the commentators and pundits warbling on about terrible defending and bad marking. It was Guly's ability to lose his marker that made it a free header.

Great player and maybe he and Lambert will now form a great partnership together up front :) Then Connoly and Banard can fill in when needed. I'm not so sure we need another striker now. If Guly gets a few games in that position I think he will keep it.

Star Name? GULY DO PRADO - How much more 'star' could youget than that name :)

agreed, he gets back a lot to help richardson, which is needed because frazer is always bombing down the wing.

Technically he's on the same level as Lallana. Brilliant player, however it doesn't always come off and people moan about that.

Because a lot of Saints fans unfortunately know nothing about football. These are the same people that boo when Kelvin doesn't hoof it up to Rickie and scoffed at Adkins' appointment

Amazing how a week ago Guly was a villain and now he is a hero after his superb first half against Middlesbrough!

Given an opportunity and a bit of faith and he will create. He's a bit like MLT in that respect. I would like to see him up top a bit more now though.

I'm amazed Antonio is back in League One. He is scoring plenty of goals again. I think he could do a job for a Championship team given the chance. I'm not saying that we need him but I think he is a useful player.

I think Guly is head and shoulders better above Antonio.

Antonio had that long throw in that gave us a different attacking option to Guly but agree Guly is far more skill full

Genuine question because I only get to a few matches. When Guly is poor is he really as poor as people make out?
