Freddie Ljungberg was always my favourite of the invincibles era. I liked how he was always on the shoulder of the last defender, he would always be in the right place to just tap it in. Plus I loved his little red mohawk he had at one stage. Oh and the cup final goal against Chelsea too, what a peach.
It has to be Bergkamp for me.' A classy player with fantastic technical ability and the power to change a game with just one touch or flick of the ball. Adams and Henry were great too, for reasons that we all know.
George Best, best British player of all time. Don't care which team you support. Forget the skill and balance on ropey pitches with tackling from behind not outlawed, but great header of a ball and tackler as well. Scored loads of goals and often had to beat players to score from often a wide position.
From when I first started watching Arsenal it would be: Charlie Nicholas Paul Davis David Rocastle Paul Merson Marc Overmars Patrick Vieira Thierry Henry Cesc Fabregas
Marc Overmars. I was a left winger and an Arsenal fan, then he came along and I tried my best to try and play the position as well as he did. I think I did an ok job. Also adopted 11 as my lucky number because of him. Special mention goes to The Dutch Master. What a special player he was.
George Best was a insecure drunk who betrayed his family, friends and his mentor (Sir Matt Busby) and his club time and time again. A man who squandered his God given talent for squirrel and booze, remembered for this addiction and unfaithfulness rather than his achievements.
Ginger, harsh but fair. On the other side, between 1966-1969 approx, the best player this country has seen.
Ginger, we agree. Cannot go on like this. I will have to locate you elsewhere and have a proper row !!
David Rocastle. I started supporting Arsenal in 86, and he was the flair player. A semi final winner against a certain North London club also helped... I stopped supporting the English national side when he was criminally dropped from the final squad for Italia 90. England would have won it if he was there...
