Couldn’t have put it better. I don’t know what or who this fabled recruitment structure is that MA has got but they’ve been sold a bunch of duffers. Morsy is literally the only one who looks competitive. In Jan all the Hurst left overs like Jackson and Nolan have to get off the wage bill. Btw JD has gone missing since he signed his new contract… then I hope the following are swapped out for upgrades; toto Carrol Penney Edward’s Burgess Harper El miz (he could go on lon) Fraser (subject to a new guy giving him a role at dons and he instantly pulls his finger out) Evans (he’s too highly paid to be a backup to Morsy, but see Fraser above..) And I hope we recruit for a 433. right, bed time.
Could only listen today because I was at work but it sounded like a **** show. Different manager, same result. How many more times do we have to suffer these cup embarrassments? Every manager since McCarthy has made far too many changes to the line up and then expects a joined up performance from a group of players that rarely play together. That is not how a team works, and it shows in the 20+ cup games that have been abysmal to watch!
I don’t think there was that much wrong - or at least not for very long. Unlucky against Sunderland, a couple of poor displays. The goals dried up, but you are always going to hit dry patches. A few new faces in January would have done it. Now it looks as though we need to overhaul the squad again.
If anything, Cook should never have got the summer. But given that he did, this has now turned into an absolute farce.
Right now I feel more disappointed than anything. I've gotten so used to these massive let downs now that they aren't even surprising or make me mad. I'm disappointed because I really expected McGreal, an ex Ipswich player who still has strong connections to the club, to really give this match a right good go. He knows as well as any Ipswich fan the recent cup failures and yet still made way too many changes to the team. It hasn't worked for us in the past and it didn't work today.
