Voted R Taylor. Before anybody starts shouting "KNEE JERK!!!!!" I've always disliked that he pulls Jonas too far back to help him out, and when left alone he is very hit/miss.
Looking forward to signing a left back so we can see Jonas putting himself up front more.

This for me.

He has also made far too many errors this season.

I'll probbaly have to go with Raylor, although id rate both fullbacks the same. I'd like to see Raylor as a right back first.

The whole thing about how he's useful for his freekicks and stuff is also something i dont agree with as Cabaye (not to mention Marveaux and Ben Arfa) are more than capable of taking them and matching his standards.

I've voted Raylor though as the RM isnt sacrificed to keep Simpson in the squad.

I have to say though, I think it very doubtful that any of these can match Raylors deadballs. Certainly on the evidence I have seen in France and so far with us. Indeed I don't think Ben Arfa is particularly great with the dead ball from what I've seen. Certainly Cabaye possesses dead ball ability, but not in Raylors class. Marveaux I've seen very little of and to be honest he isn't even worth considering as he has it all to prove now.

I don't get this thing with Jonas helping out Raylor. I hope he does the same regardless of the full back, and its as much to do with our tactics and set up, as opposed to protecting Raylor. Certainly it was apparent early doors when he was adjusting to a new position, but less so as the games have gone on. Jonas is a defensive winger for me anyway. The team should always come before the individual, and Jonas playing defensively is one of the main reasons for our solid start to the season.

Raylor is more of midfield player anyway. All his best qualities are that of a midfield player. Immense crossing, passing and dead ball deliveries.

He should be considered for the RM spot.

I came down to the same choice betweenSimmo and Raylor as everyone else, but it was more a process of elimination than anything else. Both have been fine this season. But once you've eliminated every other member of the club as obviously not a weak link, you're left with them.

They are our weakist links, but I don't think they're weak links

I voted Raylor, he's done fantastically well so far this season but remember he was only ever meant to be a short term solution to the left back problem. As has been said with Jonas coming back to help him out we lose something going forward.

Just isn't quick enough for that role though I don't think. Would be very similar to Barton last year, Pardew said at the start of the season, rightly in my opinion, that he wanted more pace in the side.

Up until this season, the time I was most impressed with Raylor is when he was in CM for a bit v Villa last season. Although we played poorly and lost, it was only his introduction that made us look threatening towards the end and he had some great passing.

Raylor. Take away the goals and he's no better than Simpson, and then consider than Raylor has Jonas in front of him and Simpson's had ****e cover for 2 and a half years in front of him.

Tell u what, seeing as Raylor has won the poll....wouldn't it be nice if Santon had some game time this season....mental isn't it?

x

No one said they dont want Santon to play you tit, but he's not a CM for the hundredth time.

Also I dont understand people saying Raylor has been "brilliant" thus far. He's scored some good goals but hasnt been especially good or bad in defence to this point.

Surprised Obertan's only got two votes, people have been slating him for weeks then he plays well against Stoke and the problem is gone?
