Ouch! That was a low blow! Wumming never entered my mind. Only serious debate. And on that subject, I do think that Bug Eyes is slightly ahead in the "most useless acquisition of the year" stakes. As frustrating as it is to watch Loldado miss the barn door with a beach ball every time he plays, at least he keeps trying; Pop-Eyes only puts in a short shift, and if he can't be arsed, his team-mates end up, effectively, playing with 10 men. He's an utter disgrace.
I'd look foolish if I took offense at it, Red. Us Spurs fans are, by and large, recognised as being the least deluded among fans, and most of us can see that Loldado simply isn't going to work. Darren Bent would be a better striker for us, at the moment, and if you know the violence of feelings expressed against that player by some on here, you'll understand the full gravity of my statement.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that Soldado will be great for us next season if we keep faith with him. And Lamela and Eriksen. They are all clearly decent players who have been great in different leagues and just need a season to come to terms with the EPL.
Agreed. I did say if we keep faith, but yes good chance they'll move on - although I'd expect Eriksen to stay at least.
I think it all comes down to us getting in a manager who knows how to set the team/squad up to (a) make best use of each player's individual talents, and (b) get the best out of key players. My main beef about Sherwoodie is that he lacks experience, and a major part of the expression of that lack of experience lies with his inability to set the team up right, let alone getting the best out of players such as Loldado.
HIAG I'm happy the Loldado name has stuck You some what twisted my post, my bad! I'm pretty sure you knew I meant Loldado is the biggest failure between the two. Even a blind man listening to matches on the radio would agree.
I don't like taking the piss out of my own players, but it's the only way I can keep the worst of my frustrations in check. I'd love nothing more than for him to turn it around and show us what he can do. Well... actually... sex with Kylie on a bear-skin rug, before a blazing fire in a log cabin sat atop a snowy mountain, and a cheque for £1 million wedged between my buttocks would probably top that, but Loldado turning it around comes in at a very close second. I've decided that I'm going to keep referring to him as Loldado until he does come good.
If he's listening to it on the radio, then it doesn't really matter if he can see or not, Skylarker! Stevie Wonder probably would've taken a better penalty than Ozil, though. Would've been harder for Bayern to go past, too.
Gareth Bale was called clueless by some on here early on. Going further back Martin Chivers looked like the biggest waste of money ever at one point. Anyone who thinks they can judge Ozil and Soldado on half a season knows nothing about football.
...only that they've been the two most useless acquisitions so far this season.... Isn't that all we can know, though? If they come good, they come good. That doesn't make it any less of a fact that they've been useless up until now. So, up until now, who has been the worst signing: Ozil or Loldado?
The vision of Kylie on a rug with snow and fire is one of the most erotic posts I've ever seen on here, providing it is me and not you with the cheque (for 26 Million...I had to relate this comment to Soldado somehow) wedged between the Deedub's buttocks.
I hope that was written with tongue-firmly-in-cheek, HIAG? If not, it's possibly the most deluded thing I've read on these forums! P.S. And I live on the Liverpool forum (apparently THE most delusional)! Here's to delusion...
I don't think LOLdado will be here next season, I can see Valencia offering him a return, we'll make a loss but that's to be expected after his debut season. If it weren't for Ade I'd be more optimistic of Soldado being a potential success next season but while Ade actually wants to play to the best of his ability, Soldado won't get a look in and I'd be surprised if he'd want to stay here if his situation doesn't improve this season. Eriksen has his faults but has arguably been our best signing alongside Vlad. He's adapted well for the most part and considering he's still only 21 going on 22, his future will be immense. Lamela I think will flourish next season, or at least I hope he will. The kid is clearly talented and similar to Eriksen in terms of having an immense future. Hopefully he can get a few games before the end of the season once he's back from his 6 week lay off and get prepared for what will hopefully be an impressive 2nd second season.
The only person on here that I can remember calling Bale clueless, Was that poster who was a big fan of Lloris, he famously said Redknapp should be sacked if he carried on playing Bale. But it's funny how people always bring up examples like Fergie and Bale yet how often do you see a repeat in fortunes? I bet in 2-3 years time, people will still be saying 'look at what happened with Bale' .. 'look at what happened when Utd stuck by fergie'. These are rare situations and as much as I try and defend Soldado, there is a much higher chance of him being like Shevchenko or Rebrov, then there is of him suddenly being proflic, but I'll still try to see the positives until he's gone as I know he has ability.
In my entirely disinterested opinion, Ozil has just gone ahead of Soldado by a bug's eyelash in the uselessness stakes. Dropping Soldado never made us look like a really good team instantly. Throughout the year, Soldado has looked like one of our best if not our best attacking midfielders, and been superb from the spot. Of course, that's true for Ozil as well...
