I agree Vidic can't be the best at this moment in time, he needs time to get back to full match sharpness and then we will see how close he is to his best. As for Kompany, from list based on this seasons form I would probably go for Kompany too but not because he has been head and shoulders above the rest, he hasn't come close to looking like the player that led City to the title last season, Distin could be in with a shout based on this current form, hes having a very good season, the Stoke defenders deserve a mention too, until recently their defense was pretty solid.
