I would have thought so. The parent is using the term 'child's so she must be under 16

Yes, the parent is saying 'child' so they must be under 16 I'd assume. This would make the bloke, whoever it turns out to be, a *****.

Not quite mate.

They were seventeen at the start, so over the age of consent ...

... but thankfully there's a law to protect under 18's on social media, etc.

Well if it turns out as grim as it seems based on what is reported so far, a prison sentence would seem right to me. I just find it sickening, paying for photos. This has struck a nerve for me.

I totally agree.

There's a degree of uncontrollable passion in a face to face scenario but this is totally cold and calculating.

If the images were passed on that makes it twice the crime imo.

problem is though, as much as we would say it is wrong, the younger generation seem to feel quite happy to show thier bodies of and many a time quite happy to let others watch them have sex...as long as money changes hands (only fans appears to be popular with some) and i may be old fashioned but in my eyes giving money for sexual acts was always prostitution.

so being 'on the game' these days means making lots of money and not having to work...being honest, if i had a decent pair of norks i would be doing it as well, moobs dont seem to get the same viewing figures.
:(

Just catching up on this. What a horrendous story that I am struggling to get my head around. If the lass is using the money to fund drugs then it is sad as well as horrendous. Excuse my ignorance, is this a crime that the police will investigate?
I thought I’d read it was a young lad.

BBC and Channel 4 for me push out way better quality than your streaming services. Either that or we get overrun by US imports etc. ITV screwed up with Schofield and BBC look to have screwed up here. And the list of other companies is long as your arm. All in favour of sorting this crap out, just not in favour of using as a reason to try and get rid of BBC. That’s a completely different argument. Using the emotions from one incident to engender support for something else is straight out the political and social media play book.

The BBC though, does not have to sing for its supper, which is why it is so complacent and why this scandal is just one of a number. Its revenue is close to £4bn a year, almost all of which is payed at point of law.

If they charged say, £10 a month for it, I would pay it, though I don't watch it much. Most would pay it.

But the forced payment system, impacting poorer people most, in the 21st century, is completely unacceptable, and in the long term, untenable.

They could slim down by massive amounts, do less, charge openly.
