I agree re Pardew, but as I am a normal person I simply couldn't care less. You can't claim MON to be classy when he comes out with unproven allegations to the press, that were also denied by the referee. Neither of us have classy managers, maybe yours is "less unclassy", but frankly who cares? It's the manager that gets the best results that anyone should care about.

We'd win in a bare knuckle, freestyle fight, easily.

Newcastle are stronger in every area, in my honest opinion. Like somebody has already stated though, O'Neil doesn't half bridge the gap as he is a different level manager than Pardew.

Cisse will score goals this season as he is simply a goalscorer. I would still put money on him banging 20 in.

I also honestly expect us to finish higher than you as well, we have more depth, europe will hinder your league progress and O'Neil will get us over the finish line

Can't see the Europe thing mate, pardew has said it's not a priority, and judging by the hints he's dropped, he genuinely means that he will play a second XI in every game.

Dear oh dear.... All the anti Pardew posts! Is this the Alan Pardew who won the highly respect Premier League manager of the year last season? The same person who's team finisher higher in the Premier league than Mon has ever achieved? That Alan Pardew?

And is this the Newcastle team that finished 17 points ahead of our illustrious neighbours last season? Even though you've made an excellent signing, it seems you would still have some catching up to do.

    Nee offence like <ok>

We're better for me. I just think we have a bit extra even if you got those signings and we got no one. I dare most of our lot will feel the same and most of Sunderlands lot will feel the opposite! The league table will answer it in May.

12 months ago your manager, owner were the Cockney Mafia and protests were planned to tell them all to piss off.

Now, 1 good season and arses are being kissed like never been seen.

Yes results are important but feeling good about it deep down is equally important. I want to feel warmth towards the owner and the manager and the players and feel that back.

We have it in bucket loads with Short and Mon and I have no doubts he will deliver on the pitch but it Woot lessen my warmth if it takes a year or two to get there.

Do you have that warmth with Ashley and Pardew? Finish lower than10th this year and sell Tiote or cabaye and the cockney mafia chants will re-surface quicker than you can shout cockneys oot.

Think most peoples issue with Pardew was that we didnt think he would improve much on Hughton rather than disliking the guy but he has brought us on immensely.

As for the OP, i think its too hard to tell. Sure many people thought we would struggle last year as we had lost some big names in summer, so cant say who will be better this year but its obviously gonna be a lot closer than last year. Should be interesting, if not horribly nervewracking.

10 months ago your manager was doing a **** job and was subjected to dogs abuse. Some decided it was down to his heritage and silly things like that. Questions were beginning to be asked of the owner. Even with the entrance of a recognised manager, poeple were still questioning MR Shorts financial commitment to the club. Strangely this has gone very quiet in recent days. 12 months previous to Nov 2011 the same manager who received the dogs abuse was loved by some of the very same people.

    So to sum up -

We had a **** owner who was doing a terrible job. He was not liked. He then started to do a very good job and took a genuine interest. People began to soften their stance and while not forgetting, decided to forgive. His bad work is not appreciated, his good work is. We signed a manager with an average record as a manager, fans are unsure. Said manager does extremely well and shows himself to be more than competent, fans like him

You had what seemed a good manager who it turned out was a **** manager. Your owner also seemed a good owner but a lack of finance provided raised doubts about his committment. He then proves his commitment by spending big. Everyone likes him again.

Moral of the story: Football fans are all fickle you see and unfortunately the noisiest ones are not always an accurate representation of the club.

Have to agree with Cest on AP, Sombrero. I've seen Pardew around the town where I live (he must live/have lived round here) and it's glaringly obvious he's totally in love with himself. If he can extract his head from his arse he may turn into a fine manager, but his record suggests he starts well and then struggles to maintain the momentum. He took over a good team from Hughton and a good scouting system as well, so it's the next few seasons that will tell. I can't argue with your position/results last year, but I still think he has something to prove. As for finishing higher than MON has achieved, well let me just say that MON has won silverware with Leicester, so let's not get too excited just yet :)

You can only judge someone on the present, not the past. At the time of the abuse, the "cockney mafia" were doing a **** job as far as we fans could see. As it stands now, they are doing a great job. Should we still want them out because of past actions? There were countless posts on here questioning Short's motives little more than a month ago, that seems to have gone quiet?

Yep and you won......oh i get with a little help form my friends:emoticon-0159-music

Up to Mush and Talc for now.

Good board good posters. Keep that way.

Top posters to get things going, in no particular order.

    MackemsRule
    Cest
    MrRaw..........

All top quality, each in their own different style.

Then a mag poster,,(not a chiek as i banned him) but many like Sombrero, Pouch, all good lads.

Then an outsider, from another club, different, let it run, can turn out to be fun....

Restore the board mate, out with the old, in with the new....it's fun honestly.
