That is true in a normal situation, the truth is the running of a football club isn't always that simple especially a club like ours.

Now this confuses me... How many people would look at Man U (or ANY other team) and say Glazer bought those players and not Ferguson bought them? Or Whelan bought those players not Martínez?

Now I know that each club is different. But why does Ashley get the blame for them? If he should also get the benefit of having signed Enrique, Colo, Jonas...

This is what pisses me off about the "****ing Ashley Brigade", now i'm not his biggest fan. But at least i'm honest enough to acknowledge the good, as well as the bad, that he has done at the club.

Can I just point one thing out.

Heard the fans at Scunthorpe sing Get out of our club and We don't care about Ashley.

Kind of contradicting , make your mind up!

He's like a bad guy in a film that everyone is fooled in to liking, until he comes unstuck and hopefully gets killed in an unpleasant way.

This! Now i'm not an "Ashley Lover", however people seem to forget about certain parts of his tenure and remember the terrible parts. So can anyone answer the above quote? Does Ashley get the credit for Enrique, Jonas and Colo? Or does he just get the responsibility for the bad signings like Xisco? Every decision made by the club will not always be right

And anyone who blames relegation on Ashley is wrong! Players are the only ones to blame. I learnt this on my coaching course, if players do not want to play their best, that team will fail. No matter how good the manager or regime is. Our squad ability wise was good enough to stay up, but their attitude was terrible. Simple as.

I understand what Ashley is doing financially for the club. To me; it has numerous merits and benefits from a business level.

The communication between fans and club is lacking and this will cause confusion and anger between the two.

I've been accused in the past of being and Ashley lover or the ostrich with his head in the sand but all I'm saying is there are benefits to his tactics and we may not reap them in the next season or two but those benefits have long term effects in the current economic climate as well as the ideologies of UEFA for coming seasons.

Barton was a good player. Nolan was too. Not great but good and we'll miss them for their personalities but I feel that they have been replaced.

Let's see how we do with who we have after the window closes.

I agree that Ashley has not been successful in all his endeavors, but it seems to me that he is learning. Most of the decisions he made at the beginning such as firing Allardyce, hiring Keegan, signing big name players on big wages, etc. were done to please the fans. And failed miserable. His treatment of Keegan is unforgiveable, but I think the rest was naivety. His decisions since then can all be attributed (in my opinion) to running it as a business rather than making people happy. I also think that he needs to hire a PR firm because I think most fans would just like to know what his plans are for the club so that we can move on to other things. I'm not an Ashley fan, but the alternative was unsustainable.

    Agreed as with Donkey Toon.

In business there are decisions that are not popular.

Ashley has put the age cap and age limit in place for a reason, to cut out mercenary players at the end of their career and on daft wages (and we have seen plenty of them e.g.smith) Unfortunatley the contracts offered to Barton and Nolan fell foul of this and MA wasn't prepared to brake it. Which in business is the right thing to do, break it for one you break it for everyone.
The players didn't like it and walked.

Not an Ashley Lover but he has alot of financial intelligence to get the club in a fit state, which is pretty important when the new financial restrictions come in next season which alot of people have over looked. Alot of clubs will be screwed by this!!!

The season we got relegated we drew away at old traffford and everyone was saying Jonas was a world beater. I am not convinced yet at all about any of our signings and will judge them by christmas, Ashley has gambled on this season big time
