The Lib Dems should never be forgiven for their tuition fees debacle. I know so many people who, as students at the time, voted for them on that basis - only to be shafted.

I voted -

Lineker - despise the man and everything he pretends to stand for. Particularly his bogus morality and hypocrisy.

Juncker - patronising arrogant unelected bureaucrat from a "country" about the same size as Bromley. F*ck off <cheers>

Hate is such a strong word. I think we should all throw out the hate and bring in some love. Life is too short.

I was in the first year of £9k fees. £50k debt in my early 20s ain't great, especially when the majority of companies want everyone at entry level to have a degree. Degrees have become another hurdle that everyone's expected to have.

The interest rate on the student loans has just gone up to 6%. And the loan sharks, for that's what they are, don't send any statements to the graduates either, so they are kept in the dark. Maybe someone should tell Roland, puts his paltry 3% in the shade.

50k student debt - did your degree take 6 years ?
standard 3 years. 27k fees + 21k loan, in hindsight i should've stayed with my parents. The interest rates mean it's hit 50k since I've left.

Not to take this off topic, only brought it up because it was a lib dem election promise that put me off them.

A degree has been devalued since "education educationneducation" Blair decided that everyone should go to Uni. Now a degree proves you're not thick, that's all. Mrs T did her bit by closing the poly's, and we've got an ill-balanced work-force, and thousands of East European immigrants. I know a couple of students who are finishing their degrees and are now beginning PhD's, because that is now the equivalent of what a degree used to be.
