I agree. He is also garbage. Constantly losing possession and an incredibly poor assist and scoring rate for us. Poor defensively as well..

Totally disagree with SFA, however, I can't reel off a list of Sharp goals yet so cannot say otherwise. It's early days. None of us can say he is crap, none of us can say he is the next Alan Shearer. We can only look at his past, overall he has a good goal-scoring record, but was not impressive at Sheffield United, but who knows why? It could be a large combination of reasons, it can happen to anyone. Torres... ahem, and Suarez hasn't been scoring left, right and centre since joining from Ajax.

I think Billy will come good. He's shown strong glimpses, and I was reasonably impressed when I saw him.

I think Adkins will sort him out over the summer, but he'll give us a couple of goals before then.

I remember a fair bit of Connolly slating last season, but boy did he come good for us in the run-in last season when we really needed him.

I want him to prove me wrong I really do but I just can't see it and he has done nothing so far I would play Lee over him any day currently.

It's very early doors. You yourself say you are an admirer of Do Prado. It took AGES for him to settle, he said himself he thought he would be leaving.

That's true but I didn't know a thing about Guly before he arrived where as most of us knew of Sharp.

I just think he stood out more cause he was playing for Doncaster and scoring most of their goals.

Now he's at Southampton he's no longer the fans blue eyed boy and maybe he can't quite grasp that yet.

I don't hate him I just don't rate him that highly and I wanted him least out of all our targets that were mentioned.

The point you didn't know him meaning what exactly? I didn't know of Van Persie or Fabregas... they were/are bloody good.

Some Saints may not have heard of Sharp as much as you or I. I wasn't totally clued up on Hammond or Lambert beforehand, I knew a bit about them though.

Jos, and I'd imagine Guly at former clubs AIK and Cesena, were highly rated. However it didn't go right from the start at Celtic and Saints and they took time. Jos ended up out, Guly found his feet, so to speak.

Give Billy more time! Celtic jumped to conclusions over Hooiveld, so I suggest it may be unwise to judge Billy after 4 games, and not all 90 minute spells.

Some of the comments made by you feel set in stone, as if they will not change, when it's too early to say so.

I can't recall if Barnard scored on his debut, but had he not scored in his first 4, would he have been crap and struggling with not being the blue eyed boy as he was down where I live? Especially considering he was the penalty taker down here. (Southend) No.

It took a while for Barney to get going, 4/5 games I think?

If you're correct then there we go. Signing two goal-scoring strikers and shoving them together does not always work from the off. They have to learn about each other, and more often than not, one has to change his style to suit the other.

    That's a case of: 2 + 2 = 5

I think that Sharp is being unfairly judged, because is is percieved as a big money transfer that lost his place to a free transfer. The truth is that Chung is being selected over Sharp because he has clearly impressed NA and a lot of the Saints' crowd too. Billy will get his opportunity and will score goals for us, I think that he was bought, mainly as a goalscorer incase Lambert gets injured and a lot of fans were calling for him to be signed when Rickie was suspended.

Exactly. And from what I read, Chung was always going to be free due to a fact that they have short contracts in the J-League traditionally and most Asian players have clauses if a European club approaches.

Blimey, have I wandered onto GC by mistake? I don't know why some of you feel the need to be so abusive, but surely it's possible to disagree with somebody on here without calling them names? Carry on like this and it will have to be closed.
