After yesterday's performance against Chelsea I think Everton have enough to stay up, especially with their remaining fixtures. They should be capable of beating Watford, Palace and Brentford and if they get anything at Leicester, it might mean they won't have to rely on their last game at top 4 chasing Arsenal. I note Burnley have still got to play Villa twice home and away - both are winnable and anything at Spurs would be a bonus. Their last game at home to "safe for next season" Newcastle should be a banker if there is such a thing. For me Leeds have the toughest task of the three. The bookies have got it right for me - is it worth a punt at 11/8 though?........
Completely on board with you on that sentiment. Apart from the odd few teams (usually like yourselves that have regularly experienced life in the Championship or lower) fans of long-standing Premier League teams are like the nouveau riche... Thinking they are soooo much better than mere oiks like us, who demand entertainment and victory, otherwise the team MUST be booed off.... Totally detached from reality and no care for the game... Clubs are exactly the same, it's just me money that matters.... Sadly all our teams strive to be exactly the same as plastic clubs like Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc... Obviously the fans of all those clubs (ok maybe not Arsenal, I think they accept they are a very corporate, plastic club these days) will never admit to themselves that their clubs are complete sell outs and will continue to kid themselves that their club is special, or different, or a bastion of the game due to their glorious history but deep down they know.... Their clubs just want their money.... Nothing else matters... So yeah, long rambling waffle, but smaller, less glamorous clubs are usually more "real" with fans that understand the game far more because they are generally there for the love of the club and the game, not the glory, so generally far more enjoyable to share the experience with.... Rant over, looking forward to playing you guys again next season
I was fortunate to have friends that live in Leiston that I could stay with when the Bluebirds were at Norwich or Ipswich. Sorry Farked19 but they supported the Tractor boys. For me though, back in the day when I could get to games, Carrow Road was a favourite. Always a great few days away. Football, Southwold and a bit of wildlife spotting at Minsmere.
Not really but it's fair to say most of the wildlife also had two legs. But the feathers were more eye-catching and they had wings.
They can be a bit hard on the teeth (not from experience of course)..... EDIT - brings a new meaning to hardwood..........
Well at least we're in keeping with the title of remote's thread - "who would you prefer to come down".
Watch yourself Nin .....I was on a final warning for posting much the same on the weeds board a wee while back
Caught pike in the river Yare within sight of carrow road. Did some work just round the corner from Portman Rd as well. Both a looooonngggg way from Cheshire. All cross country.
I am about ten miles from Leiston and five from Southwold. It's Ipswich country really. I used to watch them back in the 70's when they could realistically claim to be East Anglia's top team. Sad in a way to see them struggling in L1. The derbies were always good. We've not lost to them for a decade now.
Yes, most of the people I met in and around Leiston were Ipswich fans. However, it's a lot closer to Norwich than Cardiff! So very convenient for me when the Canaries hosted the Bluebirds. Wonderful part of the world and I loved places like Saxmundham. Great antiques and an excellent pub in Yoxford. Anyway, hope you have a good summer and that you'll visit us again on here
