The modernisation from Howe is something we wouldn’t have seen from some managers linked. The pressing is the key. Once again, kudos to this ownership, they have shut out the outside noise and had a plan.
His passing was excellent against Everton though. Not in terms of creativity which isn’t really his role, but just in terms of accuracy and picking the right pass. It was very very good. I mean I want him replaced ASAP, but you’ve got to be fair about certain things. He was also a lazy bastard 2nd half and could have been sent off - as usual.
Not 2nd half he didn’t. He was doing that arm waving thing with the runners where he passes them in because he’s either not fit enough (lazy) or too lazy to track his own man. He annoys the **** out of me because it starts 55-60mins of every game he plays. There is no excuse. But yes he’s also a cart horse.
It was literally relentless against Everton and I also feel like the fans and atmosphere boosted the players an extra 10%. The proverbial 12th man but it’s definitely true that it exists. Both ways aswell, when we where with Bruce the negative atmosphere reduced the players morale. Hats off to everyone at the club the feel good factor is brilliant. Even the Everton fans themselves where saying the atmosphere was something like they had never heard before. Intimidating!
We defo have a part to play. Look how many misplaced passes came about from fan pressure and player pressure - it’s very easy to say Everton were crap. Lampard was fair in his assessment I thought and very honest.
Not always excellent. He had a very easy option to pass to the left wing 2nd half, while we were starting to gain momentum, but he hit it so casually/lazily that it was intercepted and suddenly we were on the back foot and chasing back as Everton hit us on the break. Could have changed the game. And yes, his challenge was simply reckless. Keith Hackett reviewed it and said it should have a straight red and an extended ban. We are always in danger of going down to 10 men when he's playing.
Yeah I know which one you’re on about. But generally I had to begrudgingly accept that he did really well with the ball. That got worse and he was less involved in that regard as the game wore on which is typical for him. It’s not just the danger of reds. He reminds me of Danny Guthrie who was also a lazy fat ****, in that instead of running he will commit petty fouls in dangerous areas and particularly wide areas. It may not result in a booking for him but it presents the oppo with an opportunity to load the box and jam you in. He’s a bit of a **** really. I’d hate to be in the trenches with him.
But if you play as a deep lying CM you'll often assist the assister. It's not all about the final ball in the box.

Those comments were made before the last match. I don't think that's conclusive of anything he intends to do. I read that as he's aware of a few different options. He's never keen to make it obvious what his plans are.. It's best to keep opposing managers guessing. I would expect he'll make changes to the midfield 3 or formation entirely along the way. I very much doubt willock will lose his place this weekend, but if he or the other 2 don't perform he'll be dropped. All of a sudden cm you've got 4 capable players and not enough places which is great. He's also got the ability to change formations.
That write up is from Howe's pre match interview where he was asked which position he sees Bruno in and whether he could play alongside Jonjo. Howe said Bruno is versatile and could play anywhere in midfield, including as a double 6 alongside Jonjo. But also in a 3 man midgield, or other formations. So it was an open response to a direct question, rather than him specifically stating that's how he intends to play Bruno. It's just the usual of a headline to make a story out of an interview.
