Hyppia (best defender you've had in the past decade imo), Alonso and Torres (there we go, none of the Liverpool fans were going to say his name but assuming we're going for the 2006-2008 period the guy was possibly the best finisher in the world so just imagine what he would have done to your current team. The difference between 7th and 3rd/4th i reckon).

    2. Sami Hyypia
    3. I'm gonna get a load of **** off people for this, but Fernando Torres. Let's face it, there's one aspect of play that we suck at and that is finishing. In 2008/09 era he was one of the best finishers in the world, if not THE best. Him and Suarez up front would be lethal.

    1. Torres, he is EXACTLY what we need.

    2. Arbeloa, as Enrique has lost his way a little bit at the moment confidence wise.

    3. Probably Alonso for his star quaity, but a wide player would be ideal as we are much weaker there than in centre mid. Bellamy perhaps?

Depends on what condition they are in?

People are talking about Sami, who is now just too old to put his own boots on.

    For me is would be

    Alonso
    Arbeloa
Lauri Dalla Valle, who we gave to Fulham to bring Paul Konchesky in, which was the single worst bit of business Liverpool have ever done in their history.

I'm not sure if Lauri career can be salvaged, but I'd prefer to give him a chance over some old has been.

5 years? Torres, then. We need goals.

If we allowed players >5 years ago it'd be: Fowler & Mcmanaman & Barnes. Trickery and goals galore! <ok>

Ignoring the fact that some of these players are labelled Judas (some arguably rightly labeled) I would pick:

    1. Fernando Torres
    2. Mascherano
    3. Xabi Alonso

Please note I am a fan who holds no grudge to the fact that Torres left; I am still a fan of the player oddly (except when he plays against us).

if we go back further than 5 years but recent enough. i would go with:
    1. jari litmanen ( class act)
    2. michael owen (in his early 20's) not the waster than went to united.
    3. alonso!!!!

  16. To fit the current squad:

    - Hyypia
    - McManaman
    - Torres

Very hard to ignore Fowler and Alonso but feel that those three would propel us up the table <ok>

i would have to say if i had to choose 3 players i'd want ian rush, john barnes and i'm thinking alonso

would we get by with a side of

    reina
    johnson skertl agger enrique
    alonso lucas allen
    suarez rush barnes

    what do you think?

of couse the sentimentalists can drop allen for gerrard.
