Peterborough need to win every gamd and for us to lose two games and draw one, because of points difference, game in hand and goal difference. Won't happen. Huddersfield are the obvious danger, but they still have to win every game (possible) and for us to lose and draw one (again possible). Don't like the fact that they can go above us on Friday before our very difficult game at Brighton, but it's still in our hands. Both Saints and Huddersfield deserve to be very disappointed if they don't get auto with the form both teams are in...the difference may be the fans. COYR.
Unfortunately yes. Yet again the fixtures conspire against us. Posh also play on Friday, but surely even their attack couldn't go and beat Orient away by 11 goals, so we at least wont go into the Brighton game down in 4th place. I'm sure though that the only other time we found ourselves in 2nd place this season (I think around January time), we were also knocked back out because of us not playing. If memory serves me right, Bournemouth re-took 2nd place whilst we were in FA Cup action or something. And then due to all our games in hand, in took over 2 months for us to reclaim 2nd spot... The way the fixtures have panned out for us this season really haven't helped. It's also quite frustrating that by playing on Friday, Hudders and Posh both get an extra 24 hours rest over the Easter weekend prior to everyone playing on Easter Monday.
I think it's a two horse race between Saints and Huddersfield, with Peterborough and MK Franchise fighting for 4th and home advantage in the 2nd leg when they meet in the playoff semi finals. Interestingly, both sides still have to play Brighton and Brentford. If it goes to the last match it could reach boiling point at St Marys if Saints have to win to go up and Walsall have to win to stay up! That game in hand at Plymouth could be the deciding factor. Being the penultimate game, Plymouth will surely be already relegated. It is also just 2 days after the Devon Derby at Exeter, at which their relegation will be drummed into them in no uncertain terms. so you will either be up against a totally demoralised Argyle, who will be swept away, or an Argyle side that wants to go out with a bang!
DTLW, if you read every single post then you would realise that I have already said how I made the mistake of posting on the wrong board. Stop trying to sound clever and carry on with your homework and maybe you will get some GCSEs
Still think we'll make 2nd. People worried about Saturday, but remember Huddersfield only scored late as well. They must be gutted that we scored subsequently. We're still in driving seat, but should strap on our seatbelts.
DF606 has eased some of my fears over the Argyle game. Exeter could take the sting out of our hosts which would be most helpful.
