Dont forget Leo, it will be a rather hefty pay cut. Players like him aren't as likely to take them when there are other clubs willing to offer them more money than us.

Players we invest in need to be saleable entities we can add value to unless they're part of the core, don't think Webber fits that now. I would hope we'll bring in a few +/- 18-20 year olds 22 at most

I would not go for Webber either - we need some good defenders to give us steel at the back - like Williamson a couple of years ago before he got too big for his boots

thing is before he arrived who would have said Graham, a striker that was really struggling in the league below, MM has a talent of getting the best out of a player, I think Webber could be a good transfer, after his failures at Pompey is going to accept any job no matter the price and he can bring experience

As happens every year we will get players that we haven't thought of at the end of the previous season. Some will be a success, others won't. The sign of a good manager is to get the successes more often than the duds and to move on the duds as quickly as possible. Malky has proved his worth in dealings so far. In these situations I always remember the quote which, I think, came from Tommy Docherty, "If you buy one third division player you may get a bargain. If you buy eleven you get a third division team."

Hi NZ - how are you and everything in NZ - has it stopped quaking yet?

I would prefer to try to unearth a bargain from a lower league than to have a man on his way back down. There again would Helgusson come back and would we want him?

i think we graham going i would take helguson, love the quote NZ horn, but then MM and his scouts have had some stunners, Buckley and Graham will bring a lot more than we brought them for they are good players, you have to say MM has done a great job, and whoever he brings in I will have complete faith

Whoever we go for I'd like to think we can complete our transfer business early so as to have a settled pre-season.
With regard to DG - does anyone know how long he really has left on his current contract? I thought we had given him an increased contract already or am I mistaken?

Yes I think you are right H - but someone on here the other day posted a link to a site that gave the contract length of all our players
