HH did well when he came on today, but lets not kid ourselves into thinking he'd do that whenever he comes on. We've all seen him enough to know he's not a Premiership standard player.

Taarabtinmykitchen is right really, HH isn't a game changing player 99% of the time.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't Young switching sides and Orr coming in. Young played regularly for Villa on the left and looked decent.

And Helguson is clearly a limited player but he's a good option especially when Bothroyd's not on the pitch as there's no physical presence with Campbell up front alone. Warnock's subs were spot on today imo.

Don't you think he's good enough to do a job as a squad player Madge?

I'm finding it quite baffling that I spent the last four months posting that our CCC squad wasn't good enough for the Prem with loads of people insisting it was (there's even a bloke with a screw loose on here who thought we'd finish eight with that bunch of hatchet-men!).

Yet now, the half-decent ones we did have are seemingly not even good enough to muck out the bogs in the dressing rooms! <doh>

Anyone that thought our CCC squad was good enough to survive in the Prem needs their head testing.

I suppose as a squad player he's not that bad - but even last season, although he had a decent one, I still didn't think he was particularly good. Maybe I was concentrating too much on the sitters he regularly missed. I just agree that it shows how threadbare our squad is when we get a couple of injuries/suspensions. He made a difference today, but for every 1 of those there'll be 5 or so when he comes on and changes nothing.

    Fair point Madge.

A lot of those idiots that had last season's squad down to compete at this level have since changed their tune dramatically. Its the nature of the beast.

I'm sorry but Connolly is shocking.

School boy errors and stupid fouls every match. I bet you if he plays he will give a pen away.

Based on all the penalties he's given away recently? He's a decent centre-half and an average full-back. Nothing more, nothing less.

    Well spotted Watford.
    The 1st post didn't show.
( I hate it when that happens.)

We need a dedicated left-back next week.
We also need a good win, this is a good 6 pointer that will set us up for the rest of the season.
We need square pegs in square holes for this lot.
I think we can win as long as we snuffle out the old boy Murphy , who is past his prem sell by date.

Thanks Madge, exactly my point. Sure, he did pretty well today, no denying that, but I wouldn't want to rely on him regularly as being our "impact player". I don't think many our our premier league opponents are going to be quaking at the prospect of him coming on.

Have to say HH's efforts after he came on really kept the pressure on Villa and he was more effective in 10 minutes than JB had been all game. He forced the mistake that led to the OG so I can't knock him.

Connolly hasnt the pace or skill of Traore but was solid last time out

Rather him at LB than Orr at RB

Gotta bring orr back in switch young no way is connolly good enough at this level at cb let alone out of posistion at fullback. I also think helgusson should replace jay nothing against the boy but i rekon helg holds the ball up better and his ability to play the ball off quick rather than jay wanting to beat a player will suit adel and swp more . Never seen jay as that kind of player he wants the ball at his feet not lumped at him. Infact having watched him play for cardiff a few times against us he genraly plays more of a wide role coming in anyway i guess though til january we have to get on with what we have and hope 1 of the 3 hits a run of form
