Oh p.s I´ll do this every season till we are relegated... & I hope that will not be in my life time. & no I´m not an OAP, way off.
People said the same about Burnley and Dyche. Except for the money bit, which could make all the difference to be fair.
I didn't think you were Don't take it to heart. The reasons I think you will get relegated are not just managerial. Personally I think that Pearson being sacked and the way he was sacked will negatively effect you, can't really see how it won't. A lot of the players at the club were signed by him, probably had loyalty to him, a change of system will hurt. You still don't have a manager in place, I don't think you'll be bringing in a'big name' like Hiddink but ofcourse you could. I think Lennon seems more likely and he's **** (imo.) Then Cambiasso is now a year older and continually getting worse at his age, he still hasn't signed so I can't see this as a positive. Their's clearly a reason for this. So as far as I can see there is a distinct possibility he won't sign. And then you've spent all your money on strikers, which I find strange because I didn't think that was a problem area for you. Your only an injury to Mahrez or Schlupp away from being in real issues with creativity and I also think Huth came in and changed things but can he do it for the whole season? You gotta remember there is a reason he hasn't been playing for Stoke for the last 2 seasons, Stoke aren't that fantastic. Then there is always the issue of second season syndrome when players seem to get complacent. Just thought I'd give an outsider's views on it. Listen to it or not, I don't care. There's too many clouds around Leicester at the moment. All of this could change before the season but as it stands I think you guys will be relegated.
Yea I think that will be difference imo. And plus it seemed like Dyche changed his philosophy when in the prem to more defensive, I don't think Eddie Howe will do this.
I could go into length about why much of this is wrong, but I'll just say - we have lots more creative players than just Mahrez (who was dropped for a period when we were winning) and Schlupp - Albrighton, Vardy, Nugent, Cambiasso (if he stays), Ulloa - and that's without counting any new signing. I wouldn't read too much into Cambiasso taking his time, he did the same last season - and by getting worse, I'm assuming you didn't see him too much last season. His worst is better than most players ever get. The Stoke fans do not understand why they've let Huth go. Second season syndrome - well, one good thing about a new manager coming in is that the players cannot afford to be complacent. We haven't spend all our money (they'll be more signings), we haven't only bought strikers, and strikers were a problem ; take a look at how many goals our second highest scorer got. The only thing I truly agree with is the bit about the manager. Apart from Lennon being a c***.
In fairness I said I think he's ****, not a ****, never met the bloke. You obviously know your team and players better than I do. And you know your problem areas better as well. On the face of it though, you have Vardy who is pushing for an england call, you have Ulloa who was a record signing I believe when he was bought and your top scorer last season, Kramaric who's a croatia international, Okazaki who was just signed for a reasonably high fee for you guys. If you sign Charlie Austin as well (assuming you do for the sake of this) then thats 5 strikers who'd be wanting or even expecting to start week-in week-out, who starts and who sits on the bench or even misses out completely on the matchday squad. I know everyone aren't always fit but your squad seems striker heavy and thats forgetting all about Nugent (who was your second top scorer last season). I don't know how big your budget is, I wouldn't expect it to be over 30m though even if your owners are rich. you've already spent about 10m or more on Huth and Okazaki, if you sign Austin for 15m then your budget is basically gone. If cambiasso doesn't sign I don't think a replacement of similar quality would come cheap, and if you don't get similar quality you'll struggle.
You do realise that the whole point of this forum is that it's a multi-club one? You know, so that fans of different clubs can converse with each other. If you only want to talk to Leicester fans, try Foxestalk.
... simple maths ... ours is 10x that of Leeds United ... more seriously ... if we actually secured the players we are being linkd with our spending would be closer to double that ... the 30 ... not the Leeds 3 ...
Not sure that is totally correct judging by a lot of the posts on Foxestalk - I read it for comedy value only
I've not been on for years, but it was fairly entertaining on there last time I looked, some posters are completely bonkers.
How much do you reasonably expect your owners to spend then out of interest? You will have a better idea than I will obviously, I would've thought that'd be quite a reasonably generous amount though for a club in its second season in succession in the prem
Depends if Cambiasso signs a new contract. If not, would expect around £15m on a couple of midfield players. Plus whatever they want to spend on Austin - if indeed they do. A lot will also depend on who is appointed manager. If Hiddink or Klopp are appointed (yeah - I know) they will probably identify one or two must haves, which would obviously be further expense. Money really isnt the problem with our owners.
Sorry, I have the swears filter on and obviously guessed at what you said! We haven't, and probably won't sign, Austin. If we did, I'd say that's definitely then end for Nugent. We have played three strikers at times, and Vardy can play wide. Strikers also suffer drops in form more than any other position; at various times, Ulloa, Vardy, Nugent and Kramaric all had off periods. The competition does them good. I think we need a CB (at least we do if we continue to play three at the back) and as you say, a quality midfielder, and we are being linked with players in that position. We probably also need to replace Knockaert.
