    - Isn't Lallana going to be rivaled in his best position by coutinho and sterling? I imagine the plan is for them to rotate fluidly but that sort of thing may not work well in practice. Also with lallana out for the start of the season he may struggle to get established in the side

    - Lambert will succeed in what he was signed for (backup) unless there is a sturridge injury and no other striker signed and he is forced to lead the line for say 8-10 games in succession. Then he will probably be found out as out of his depth.

    - Chambers - it depends on how many games he will player and what position wenger decides is his best one. Interesting to see that he got completely done for pace in the community shield by Dzeko. Not a promising trait for a potential top levle (arsenal level) full back or centre back (although learning how to read the game will help with that but will take a long time). And players don't tend to get faster. It might have been a one off.

    - Shaw will need to be tightly controlled as he is already showing signs of letting the money and fame get to his head (see tabloid stuff from the world cup) and has never struck anyone as the sharpest knife in the drawer. If he is controlled he could become very good. But agree with a comment above that his attacking game will need to improve in a 3-5-2.
It is also interesting that Man United may sign both Rojo and Blind. Both can play in the centre but have proven to have more attacking product to date (in the world cup)

    - Lovren will probably do well but I am not certain he is significantly better than who liverpool already have. A few poor games could see him fall out of favour. But I guess liverpool will just rotate. He may end up horribly exposed by liverpools attacking style and gerard's sorry attempts at being the screen for the back four

But more to the point why do we not have a thread like this for our own signings? Or are we being positive and hoping they all succeed? Or perhaps reserving judgement until we see how we plan on lining up
