My view is that Leicester are a good, very well organised side -especially defensively. They're very hard to break down. They have 3-4 key players who make the whole thing tick and help keep their shape. How will they do next year? Well, I very much doubt they'll be able to repeat this season. They will have, most probably, CL to deal with. Unless they buy very wisely, keep the key players they have, and are just as fortunate with injuries, they will find life a lot more difficult.
Blimey! Calm down, Stan! Such levels of aggression so early in the day cannot be good. You had a deal gone bad? Your conveyancing monkey ring you up to tell you there'll be no fat cheque in the post today, because a buyer decided the price you'd put on the house was a rip-off? Now, remember, that when I write what I am about to write (as with anything I write on this comedy channel) it is very much tongue-in-cheek, and written very much on the basis that I really couldn't give a **** about any of it. Remember, also, Stan (please, for your own sanity) that none of this is real - it's all mere words whispered into the ether; no one is going to die if the letters forming the words arrange themselves into patterns that do not spell out what you want them to spell out. Okay. I say - in my opinion - that Leicester have had a fluke. They have won games that they ought not to have won, and they have appeared to have intimidated teams that ought not to have been intimidated by the likes of Leicester. They have benefited from the fact, also, that this is the season in which all of United, Chelsea, Arsenal, 'Pool, and £ity have been particularly pants. In that sense, they have been extremely lucky that their run of form has coincided with all the top teams having a mare of a season - I cannot see that anyone can argue with that statement. The definition of fluke is this: "an unlikely chance occurrence, especially a surprising piece of luck." Therefore, when I state that Leicester's season has been a fluke, I am basing it on sound thinking, and not mere "bitterness" as you would like to have people believe in order to serve your rather pathetic vendetta and wum-agenda. Please, learn to think before you blink. So, you see, Stan, your faux indignation is not only unnecessarily aggressive, but also betrays in you a complete lack of wit and intellect. This won't surprise a lot of us, but I know it will surprise you, because you genuinely believe that you are clever. You are not, mate.
I agree, next season will be tough for them. However they've won 20 out of 32 games this season, only losing 3. How do you fluke that?
True. As has been said, they play a kind of Italian style football. They're very solid defensively and have a fast counter attack, with a very good striker to finish things off. They're happy to concede possession, as the figures show. They frustrate their opponents into trying something risky in an attempt to break them down, nick the ball, rapid shift from defense to counter attack, 1-0 Leicester!
Yes, I was goading you, Stan. Well spotted. I'm inside your head, aren't I, Stan? You want to ignore that fact and pretend it isn't true, but it irritates you, doesn't it, Stan? And you are annoyed at yourself that it irritates you - am I making sense, Stan?
Fluke is the wrong word, IMO. However, they've certainly taken full advantage of the circumstances of this weird season. Goons, Utd, City, Chavs, all having nightmare or indifferent seasons. Their current nearest challengers are Spurs. We're a good side, but a work still in progress, IMO. We have the youngest side in the PL, and if we can hold them together, we will be up there challenging next year. I think the success of Leicester and Spurs this season has highlighted the importance of building a team and having a manager capable of doing that. Not just 11 so called superstars who are total strangers to each other.
The definition of fluke is this:- "an unlikely chance occurrence, especially a surprising piece of luck." Let me ask you some questions, NSIS. Do you accept that it has been an unlikely chance occurrence that all of United, Chelsea, Arsenal, City, and 'Pool have had, let's be generous and say, an indifferent season? Do you accept that Leicester's form (coming off the back of a relegation scare last season) has been unexpected? Do you accept that this unexpected occurrence, coinciding as it has with the indifferent form of all of the top clubs, has been surprisingly lucky for Leicester?
... both ourselves and Spuds have had unprecedented season's tbf ... hindsight is a wonderful thing and given our points haul in the last 9 games of last season it might even be argued that the level of Spurs improvement in this season is the bigger surprise PS how you can imply that Stan's comments equate to Leicester 'ruling the roost for the next few seasons' is perhaps the most nonsensical conclusion you have ever come up with on these boards... which is itself an amazing feat, given the number that you have made ... I don't expect us to be top 4 next season (I doubt Spurs will be either) because the usual 4 will have had a huge wake-up call ... but neither do I see us falling away completely (or Spurs for that matter)... this Leicester City ream has a solid spine and a very good manager ... I think we will actually strengthen as a squad ... but so will others, and therein lies the rub .....
... I think that is a fine summary of Spurs' season, to give credit where it is due ... after all, when was the last time you mounted a title challenge? ... this season has indeed been a 'one off'
So, you chose to take it at face-value rather than to consider the possibility that I am having a bit of mischievous fun? Why?
The word fluke signifies a very high degree of fortune to me. I don't believe that to be the case. Yes, they've been lucky that those clubs have all had indifferent seasons, but they are also a very good side and would probably be in the top 6-7 regardless of the form of the others.
