Yeah thats what I meant. The defender realised Bale was going to beat him to the ball, so launched himself backwards into Bale and then just hit the deck like a cheating sack of ****. That's what Barca do....I cannot ****ing stand them.
He didn't throw himself, Bale outmuscled him. Just a piss poor 'Homer's' decision from the officials.
He barely touched him. He launched himself backwards into Bale looking to go down when he realised Bale was favourite to get the ball.
I've seen it several times already. He jumps, and just misjudges the flight of the ball. I'm not denying it was a poor decision, it was. But if you saw the whole game, there was a load of very naughty stuff going on - from both sides!.
Sorry are you denying that Barca players dive all over the place like cheating sacks of ****? Because that's hilarious.
Diving has been endemic in La Liga for ages. It's Not as bad as it used to be because officials - probably under instructions from UEFA have tightened up on it. You do actually see yellow cards for simulation being given now. But yes, Barca has divers, as do all teams..
Pretty much agree on the City, Arsenal and Chelsea assessment above, and I do with regards to us as well (in bold). van Gaal has mostly been a waste of time (apart from signing some ok players, blooding youth and getting shot of some deadwood) and I've got this dreadful feeling that we're intent on keeping him for next season also. The press are just guessing that it's 'nailed on' to be Mourinho next year, that's just bollocks. I reckon United don't really want Mourinho and are hoping, naturally enough, we get 4th which gives van Gaal a stay of execution so they can assess the likes of Pochettino for one more season. To go for him (Poch) this summer is too soon. They've started to bang on about this 'process' again, you know the one that was supposed to take three months, well it now is not possible to implement this process within two full seasons so **** know's why he/they think it'll all suddenly click into place during season 3. All evidence suggests it won't so even if we do get fourth and van Gaal stays we will remain depressingly mediocre and the target will again be scraping 4th. That all said, if we don't get 4th this season and they do get rid and bring in Jose I expect us to better that and even compete to win the league. City will be better next year but I agree he won't just waltz in and win the league as it is way more competitive than either Spain or Germany. Arsenal will set their sight on 3rd or 4th and Chelsea will be back up there competing for top four again. Liverpool will remain on the periphery of European places. As for the current top two; if Leicester keep everyone and add to the squad, which they'll have to to compete in Europe, they will remain in the top six or thereabouts but are unlikely to defend their title. Spurs will just revert to type; fifth or sixth. That's a long winded way of saying that next season top four will go back to the old guard of United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal in not necessarily that order, apart from Arsenal being fourth. Probably.
I agree to be honest. People will accuse us of wishful thinking because we support Chelsea and United, but I cannot see how it will go any other way. Arsenal will stay 4th as always, and United, Chelsea and City will just keep spending shedloads of cash until they are back up in the CL spots. This season was something of an anomaly. But a welcome one to be sure, its why this league is the best.
Should have stuck to ' I don't know' Bo. If anything hinders Spurs in the transfer market, it will be the funds being directed towards our new stadium. The team we have now, if kept together will only mature into ironing out the errors they have made this season. A lot of which is related to a lack of experience. No doubt the rest will come closer due to improvements as you say.
We've made a Patreon page. That or we've not spent any money on transfers for years, have a relatively low wage bill and there's a big new TV deal. Combined with stadium sponsorship and our youth policy, we should be ok.
Spending shed loads hasn't got them far this season! How about building a team, that plays like a team? That might work!
This one season? No. But look at every Premier league since 2005 and it has been won by one of those 3 clubs. So they are doing something right. And why just pick this season? Why not this season, the last half of the 2006 season and the first 3 games of the 1982 season.....you are being highly selective mate
