An AS rumour isn't a guarantee of what will actually happen, but if you want to believe it fair do's mate.
Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of NEXT season, when Real or someone of that ilk comes in for him. Pool will tell all comers to **** off this summer. BUT, they at least pay their players a decent wage. Kane will also leave Spurs, I feel, at the end of NEXT season, once Poch leaves this summer to go to Real and the new manager ****s things up and leaves Spurs in 7th, Kane's old buddy Poch will call him from Spain and poach him. So in short, both at the same time. Dont think either player is going anywhere this summer.
Would Kane be satisfied with an FA Cup winners medal on the sideboard and decide to stay based on that?, he obviously wants league titles and maybe a CL medal which is difficult to see happening at Spurs. Salah is having a fantastic debut season for us but he'd have to prove it over maybe three seasons before the Spanish vultures start circling, Kane is so far 2nd best this season but he's proved he can do it on a regular basis, for that reason alone I think his Spurs time will be up before Salah leaves Liverpool. Your point about wages is spot on, Spurs fans think Kane would backheel mega-wages abroad because of club loyalty, but unless Spurs pay him what he's worth it'll all end in tears.
Well there are rumours of Real interest in Salah already, he would be an ideal replacement for the ageing Ronaldo. But I think Liverpool would tell anyone who comes in for him this summer to do one. And after one season, I dont think Salah has the leverage to force a move himself, with the time remaining on his contract. Besides, if he has another cracking season at liverpool next season it will only drive his price up further. Kane is on 50k a week, which, for the top scoring English striker in the PL, is abysmal. Hugo Lloris and Eriksen are on 90k a week themselves. I think Kane will sign a new contract in the summer to double his money, with a buyout clause, which Poch will activate at the end of next season when he is at Real. Club loyalty is admirable, but Kane's agent will surely know that Kane can quadruple, or more, his wages, at a big club.
Some interesting points, there, Figsy. I think the deciding factor is going to be the ease with which Real are able to deploy their tapping up machine. They’ve been on Kane’s case for two seasons. Levy hasn’t answered the phone, and Kane’s head hasn’t been turned. They’re now looking at Salah and thinking to themselves it’s time to change tack. Especially as they’re likely to get Salah for a lot less. It’s going to be fascinating watching ‘Pool crack under this kind of pressure again. I wonder who Klopp will get in to replace him?
Levy doesn't need to answer the phone, Kane holds all the aces. If Kane gets tempted he'll be gone, if Spurs play hardball with the player he'll run his contract down and go for next to nothing or on a free, according to Kane he wants what he's worth and wants winners medals, he won't wait forever for both to happen.
https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...ws-spurs-signed-deal-2022-wages-a7449456.html Signed a new contract in January for 100k a week plus bonus (25-35k) so he's on about 125-135k per week. Some of the rags tried to say Spurs were going to give him 200k but that was usual hack bullsh!te.
Ahh didnt realise that. Thats much better money. He will still earn more elsewhere, but Kane doesn't strike me as anywhere near as mercenary as say Alli. I think it will take Poch beckoning him to Spain when he takes the Real job for Kane to leave Spurs.
He was ya melt. I just didnt realise he had recently signed a new contract. I dont keep up on that kinda ****, I aint a Spurs fan.
Good arguments, mate. The way I see it is that Kane loves Spurs. Admittedly, I’m basing that on tenuous evidence, such as Kane telling the National press several times that he has no intention of leaving Spurs (the club he supports), so I know I’m on shaky grkind with this.
Actually I seem to remember him saying he'd stay as long as Spurs match his ambitions, so yeah, you are on "shaky grkind" what ever that is.
But we are matching his ambition. Look at the squad we have! And the manager! We’ve got a cracking academy, and we’re about to remove the wrapping paper on a spanking new stadium! The icing on the cake will be a third successive top 4 finish. You can see why the lad loves us.
