I'd have Modric and maybe Lennon but in all other areas I'd have our players over theirs

Agree that bale is not sophisticated enough to interchange with MAta Hazard Oscar; he would be fantastic as a flying winger in a less tactical team like United though. He would become very good there. Regular CL football would improve his game under SAF

I agree with HIAG, I think Mata will be our stand out player.

  5. All wumming completely aside, Drogs, that man is one of the best players in the division. I said it from the moment you bought him.

Incidentally, I was the one singing Drogba's praises when you first acquired him, when most Chelsea fans were saying he was 5hite. I remember having an argument with a Chelsea-supporting mate of mine, who three seasons later bought me a beer in admission that I was right and he had been wrong.

I too remember people slagging off Drogba in his first season with us, both rival and Chelsea fans.
I too was telling them to give him time, after I saw the way he demolished Everton when they played Marseille in the Europa League.
And sure enough he became the best Chelsea goalscorer of the last 20 years.

I was largely apathetic about Drogba but in the 2nd season he started to show signs of prominence. I could see the potential in him.

The best thing that ever happened to him was Shevchenko, as soon as Sheva joined Drogba just became a different player, he knew he had to up his game as his Chelsea career could have been over. Much like Dzeko since the arrival of Aguero and renaissance of Tevez.

I've spent years defending Drogba. I also defended Ramires when he was getting a lot of stick, same with Mikel, Kalou, JT and Essien.

With Kalou gone, Mikel and Luiz will become the next scapegoats

Gary Cahill cost what? £7m? What an absolute bargain! The most underrated CB in the prem IMO.

Kalou is been mostly gash lets be honest... Drogbas attitude was just down right embarressing which is why im glad to see the back of him (and im the minority but bothered). Mikel will have an amazing season but becasue he is not a player who skips past everyone, pulls off amazing passes and scores he doesnt get the right credit, fact is he is on the ball more than any other player, people who give him stick need to watch him more when he plays, statistically probably makes less mistakes than other players. Luiz, just a frigging legend, i watch football for excitement, he brings that in barrel loads and his character is fantastic!!!

I am most looking forward to seeing Torres come good and how the whole flair midfield works... could be goals galore this season! Also looking froward to Cahill and Mikel having a quality season. Stand out player, Terry, leading from the back better than anyone else in the world. Hes a cock but on the pitch theres nobody better.

No Chelsea fan is glad to see the back of Drogba. Stop endearing yourself to rival fans and support your players. <ok>

Couldnt agree more and I can see Cahill and Luiz making it very difficult for Terry, despite you signing all those 'flair' players its Luiz I can see having the biggest impact, but I think you are in for a great season if it all clicks straight into place and I too can see Torres scoring far more freely now that Drogbas shadow has been lifted.

Only because he had only a few months of his contract remaining. Heaven knows how much you are paying him.....
