Probably someone being speculative or the bookies trying to generate interest in a dead market.
    But....then again

After the departure of Alan Pardew for Crystal Palace this week, Newcastle must now find a new coach for the end of the season. And according to RMC, which cites a source close to the club, the English leaders would think the profile of... Rémi Garde.

The former coach of Olympique Lyonnais, who was not contacted for the moment would be appreciated particularly for his knowledge of English, he Championship who notably spent three years at Arsenal when he was a player. Furthermore, the presence of many French among the Magpies would facilitate its integration.
The situation could even settle quickly enough to Rémi Garde because according to RMC, the Chairman of the English club, Mike Ashley, and his general manager, Lee Charnley, should begin discussions with potential new coaches within the next 48 h. Rémi custody, new consultant and commentator for Canal +, will be attracted to the idea of resume service in England? Case to follow.

Judging by the way that random names are appearing on the betting now, it's safe to assume that the bookies don't have the first clue about who is next.

Remember how Colo was the favourite at one point? <laugh>

According to news reports Ashley has given Lee Charnley a free role in appointing our next Coach/Manager. This guy has no football background so god only knows what we'll get. Here's hoping he has got some real knowledgable contacts.

There is no way Ashley is giving that bald **** free reign. He will toe the line like every other ****er associated with him.

"Lee, you have complete free reign to appoint whoever you want........oh, by the way you have a budget of £250k per year, and no-one is to be given more than a 6 month contract. And they must be free, no compensation can be paid. Plus the job title is, specifically, head coach - no managerial responsibilities, no player trading. Off you go, then."

Apparently Mike is looking to appoint the first Premier League manager on a zero hours contract. He will be paid only for the day of the games and any time he has to spend before the Premier League disciplinary committee. He will however receive a large bonus if he achieves the following objectives:
    1) keeps us in the Premier League but no higher than 8th
    2) has all the players wearing only clothing bought in Sports Direct by end of the season
    3) persuades Sissoko, Aarons, Krul and Janmaat to transfer to Glasgow Rangers before the start of next season
    4) sticks to our new transfer policy of only improving our squad with the parents of child workers from Sports Direct factories in Vietnam (as long as they can speak French)

I'm hopeful we're doing things properly this time. I mean if they were going to give it to Carver they'd have done it already.

You're exactly the type of person Mike likes. Evergreen hope in the face of conclusive evidence of chips being pissed on.

I have decided the next manager needs to be scottish. I have based this on the fact that the fans clearly want an FA Cup run. The nationality winning FA Cup managers has been as follows:

    England 68
    Scotland 35
    France 2 6
    Italy 4
    Netherlands 2
    Spain 2
    Northern Ireland 1
    Portugal 1

4 of our 6 FA Cups were brought to us by Scottish managers.

We therefore need a Scot in charge if we are going to sort this unholy mess out. Therefore step forward....

So again there's been a fairly significant move by BetVictor in dropping Paul Clement's odds to 3/1 favourite. I've seen nothing on twitter of forums to suggest this is just a follow-the-rumour move.....bear in mind he was at least 20/1 yesterday.
