I've just watched the end of Nanny McPhee, she'd be my choice.

That article says you're after a 'head coach' not a manager.

That rules out basically everybody worth their salt. Whoever comes in will have no say in transfers, they'll answer to a Dir of Football, who is your DOF? Get a good one in and it could turn out great, somebody like Cortese perhaps.

Head coaches who are good, may be swayed to work under a decent DOF, but didn't you lot try Kinnear in that position and he tried to fetch in some washed up donkey as his assistant or something?

Bleak is the word that comes to mind, I had Carver at 16/1 and I reckon I'm gonna get paid unless the bookies find a loophole in their terminology of 'next permanent manager'.

With a poor enough choice of manager, i.e. Carver, would any of you jack it all in??

Not a chance. Just got to ride the storm, no matter how long it takes. Surely Ashley hasn't got long left?

You did well to get 16's mate, he's down to about 5/1 atm. Sherwood and McClaren ahead of him. We have a decent scouting system, so I'm not too fussed about him not being involved in transfers too much. There's some half decent managers out there, let's hope we get one that won't be overly bullied/undermined by Ashley.

Anyone happy that Pardew has gone and as such, got what they wanted, unless naïve, must have realised it was always going to be a gamble on what happens next.

If you're able to turn the tap of NUFC on and off when the going gets a bit tougher than you would like, its like the spitting the dummy out.

This is true. He's gone from 20/1 to 6/1 in the past 20 minutes with some bookies inc. WillHill.

Are we both talking about Remy Garde, or are you dwelling on Ian Dowie?!

Dunno about that - appreciate the bookies probably know nowt but I've seen Garde go from 16/1 to 7/2 Fav with SkyBet in the last hour. Ian Dowie's still 66/1....!!!

Bookies know nowt, nobody would tell a gambling firm anything.

Their odds are based purely on betting patterns which are based, in turn, on media 'speculation' and such.

It's unlikely that a candidate under consideration would need to declare an interest publicly for the position.

Hmm, turns out French press say Garde, Sunday Sun say Ketsbaia/Carver are those who've declared interest. So on the logic above can we rule out the latter and appoint the former?!

Also turns out McLaren is allegedly not coming, now at least, keeps repeating the phrase "finish the job", so whether that means he's contracted til season end, or whatever, who knows. BBC saying it won't be him, though.
