Whereas I don't particularly like the bloke, Suarez is World Class, and World Class players don't stand around waiting for 'supply'. They get into the game and chase around like blue-@rsed flies. That is why they score the goals they do. Players of that calibre are way beyond our budget. Up-and-coming loan-in's MIGHT be the answer (like Fraizer Campbell was to us in the Championship) but these are obviously going to be hard to come by. We are due to get 'lucky' however after Proschwitz and Graham.
Aluko championship quality? Come on mate, have a word with yourself. I know it's all opinions, but **** me that's a very weird one to have
Once Long and Jelavic settled in , our distribution to the pair became awful , hopeful direct and uninventive . with the change in supply lines really hope to see Long n Jel prove their worth . as of right now i think we need a CB and RB more than anything and jobs done
"Getting into the box and chasing around like a blue-arsed fly" doesn't make you a World Class player However, possessing a sense of positioning, timing and making the right runs, sometimes paving the way for your strike partner, sometimes pulling back into space, that's what they do..
Can you tell me how many Premier League teams are chasing him? He hardly gets a start with us and when he does it's as 'second striker'. A player like Aluko wants first team football and when he gets the ball he's got "Bound-for-Glory" written all over him and to hell with his team-mates. One goal in 17 compared to 8 from 23 in the Championship should tell you where he is more comfortable.
You're going to be disappointed then, as Bruce said yesterday he's happy with Jelavic, Long, Aluko and Sagbo and isn't looking for a striker.
Yes i seen the write up that Bruce said he thought Aluko was back to his best, but tend to agree with Tigeroo as I believe Aluko is a selfish non team man. Only time will tell. I wonder how long he can stay on the pitch this time before he hits the medical rooms. I'll give him 5 weeks into the Prem season
I do think he is telling the truth but if he was in the market he'd be daft to say so. Strikers being so much more expensive, he'd be putting the price up just by saying he's looking. I wouldnt say no to another out and out striker to be honest. You can never have too many goal scorers.
Aluko was the best player in the Championship, a view shared by Ross McCormack on twitter if you are skeptical. How can so many of our other Championship players now be Premier League quality (Meyler, Brady, Chester etc.) and yet the best of them all is not? He was injured or not up to speed for almost all of last season and yet still there were glimpses of brilliance such as the goal in Newcastle and general play in other earlier games. Bruce says he is now back to his best and the fact he was doing extra training through his summer holidays is a very good sign.
You can, just ask QPR. We've got two in Jelavic and Long and adequate backup in Sagbo and Aluko. Any more than that and players start to get miffed at competition for places/not getting enough first team football.
Why ? Steve Bruce is the best manager we've ever had, no ? What are you saying ? You know better than him ? The best strikers are the most expensive by far, you always seem to ignore that fact. If there is an up and coming premier league quality marksman out there, the competition to sign him will be huge. Do you think we could win the race to sign him ? Tell me the name of a proven premier league goalscorer, we could get for what ? £3m.... Because that will be the ball park figure we would be able to offer. Or maybe you think we might be able to get Messi on loan ?
Because I too believe that Steve Bruce is the best Manager we have ever had but if Aluko and Sagbo are Premier League quality then Maradona will make a come-back. We will not get a striker of Premier League quality for 3 million quid. If we get Messi on loan I will stick a Digeridoo up my @rse, stand naked on one leg outside the KC Stadium and f@rt "Waltzing Matilda" whilst whistling "Falling in love with you"! There are strikers available that are being canvassed by their agents but we are not privy to that information. I believe that should an offer come in for either Aluko or Sagbo we will snap their hands off.
You don't have a ****ing clue mate ! "Strikers are being canvassed by their agents" NO **** SHERLOCK ! Their agents have **** all to do with it, clubs will pay what they 'think' they can afford, whether that be fees or wages. We have done a lot of good business this summer, and in our most pressing positions.
