Unfortunately if we do finish 10th we will have the same problem of attracting good players and our existing players will become unsettled. The unwritten rule is that the higher a club finishes the faster their squad improves.
Not one of us thought we had a ready made championship manager in the wings, just gasping to show his innate judgement. What did people really expect. An older head alongside him would have offered a second opinion on Saturday and that's what is needed, quick. Unfortunately football managers make their mistakes in public; every time they drop a bollock the world knows about it straight away. Must be scary stuff, especially for a rookie like Nick. The expression "no sentiment in football" is reserved for players at the end of their career, not usually managers just starting out. I say give him a long run before hitting any panic buttons. Nick will know inside if he can't do this job, and will step down, I think we can trust him on that. But there are a lot of games to be played yet.
