I would play McKenna tonight to match up with Ferguson

This actually makes sense. As hard as it is to read and agree with.

You don't need the armband to be a leader. So I couldn't care less who captains the side. Just so long as the likes of McKenna, Koren and Hobbs open their mouths.

Terry (England and Chelsea)? Ferdinand (Enland vice captain also)/Vidic? Gallas? Carragher (vice captain)

Definately needs to be a CM in the modern game

Is there a hint of sarcasm there?

I was leaning on the fact that these days, full backs wouldn't make good captains, that's extended to Wingers too.

Centre Halfs or Centre Mids, who are in the thick of it and are in a central location to dish out instructions. Right back trying to get his voice over to a left winger for example isn't ideal.

Iwas going to post the same thing.NP has seemed to be looking for a natural leader in the group since Ash left. Maybe the man who takes it tonight, will be our captain for the season ! My moneys on Mkenna !

When was the last time you saw Koren 'open his mouth'? He usually looks disinterested and there's no chance he'll be captain!

I think it'll either be Dawson or McKenna

I'd bet on Hobbs, though it does at a bit of fire to the CB debate with Ayala looking as if he's coming in (though i think there's already a thread or 2 about this so let's not go into it)

I don't see a leader in Hobbs, surprised he's got so many backing him. I'll go with McKenna, I suspect that is what he was brought in to do. Captain at PNE captain at Forest (spot the theme!)

If Andy Dawson starts then it will be him. If its Dudgeon at left back then Jack Hobbs i guess. But would not be surprised by Mckenna either.

I posted Koren because he was already mentioned in the thread and some were calling for him to be given the armband. I was implying that so long as the more experienced and better players open their mouths, it won't matter who wears the armband because we'll have several leaders on the pitch.

    Sorry to offend...

I'd give it to Koren. Absolute nonsense to suggest that a captain has to be some sort of hyperactive lunatic. Hobbs and McKenna would both be fine choices but regardless of who it is, they'll lead anyway.

McKenna as that's what he's done before; but Hobbs as he's so well in.....

Daws was hardly vocal last season and he was given it, presumably because he has been at the club the longest and the young lads look up to him. It could be any of Koren, McKenna, Hobbs, Rosenior or even Chester.

And Dawson is a full back, adding to the centre back debate. I don't think Koren would be a bad shout, it might make him seem more interested and less likely to just disappear like he sometimes does.

Hobbs isn't captain material in my opinion. I don't think he played particularly well tonight either.

Stick a pin in ................... as long as Dawson isn't on the list , he needs to spend most of the season on the bench imo.
