He definitely made up in inspiration to the lads what he lacked in appearances, a great signing by Brownie
Forgot about Ryan Williams!...anyone who was at the Chesterfield match at BP remember how he single handedly destroyed us?!,couldnt believe we managed to snag him just a few weeks later and holding my breath everytime he touched the ball for us!(didnt take too long to exhale under a huge cloud of dissappointment though!).Where is he now?
Mark f**king Hatley, hands down, after years of ****e with Dolan and Fish, to get an international player and A new owner in was epic...until we started playing that is. I was so excited at the time though, after all the Tigers 2000 stuff and that, it looked like we were past it all, so full of hope, only to be so disapointed.
Kevin Francis and Rodney Rowe. Dream team to take us to the promised land. Rocky, Barmby, Bullard, Parlour, even Danny Mills! I was really chuffed when we signed Elliott but the biggest one has to be Okocha.
He was one of the best players i have seen play against us up until that point, and when i heard we signed him i literally couldn't believe my ears, he was so good that day. I don't think he was that awful for us just was never going to live up to it. Tbh Whitmore and Goodison have to be the one's for me, i was a young lad at the time and to see these two young Jamaicans who played in the World Cup come to Fer Ark was incredible.
Wagstaff for me, followed by the twin signings of Butler & Houghton. Given the inflation in transfer fees these were the equivalent of £10,000,000-plus signings at the time. A huge statement of intent and we haven't been close since.
