On potential alone he's worth more than six and a half to us and to Liverpool. Need to remember the transfer market is subjective and you can't try to be objective about prices.
What is twice what he's worth, are you suggesting henderson is worth around 7m? The problem being that i along with many will see it as a bad move for bruce to sell him, and replace him with who?
I would never dream of buying any of the tabloids: they shouldn't be allowed to get away with the unresearched crap they come out with.
Yeah I'd say £6-8m. I think if Liverpool pay what's being suggested then it would be great business for Sunderland
maybe good business from the money point, but to start to sell your better players can lead to many problems, plus by the way the market is, henderson is worth more than 6-8m, as you know with carroll, it's a stupid time in football, 35m for a 10m player. bet you still never wanted him to go though even at that ridicuous price.
I have to admit that the price Carroll went for shocked me even more than the Darren Bent sale. A great piece of business by the Mags board and certainly makes me think that the £24m that we sold Bent for was far too low.
Of course Bent was sold cheaply, either before or after the Carroll/Torres deals, I said at the time it smacked of little club mentality and selling Henderson for under £20 million would attract a similar opinion from me. We will be very lucky if we have such a prolific goalscorer as Bent to our club in say the next 5 years unless we spend a lot of money, similarly with Henderson - would we be able to attract a decent replacement for the money being touted - £12million - who would come to Sunderland(so forget Parker, Adams, Huddlestone et al) Cattermole I'm not bothered about, imo how SNQ and Ellis Short is a real and quantifiable measure of their true ambition for the club, selling Bent mid season was short sighted decision that heaped pressure on Bruce and cost us a position or two in the table(and therefore £1-2 million pounds which would have gone some way to paying £ents ransom demand!). Sell Henderson cheap and I seriously doubt SNQ & Ellis Short desire success a fraction as much as we do.
