Not a Chelsea fan, just a football fan.

After the game against Leicester and Napoli you now have two, for lack of a better word, 'fit' strikers, or at least strikers capable of scoring. I think it's very fair to say that neither of them have been prolific this season but this could now be the start of a run of form for either of them. But who starts? Such a hard decision for RDM imo. Either player you pick will lower the others confidence and vice versa - and even worse if he plays Torres and he plays badly.

I'm assuming people will say Drogba because he's shown for years that he can get the job done, with Torres as an impact sub. But is there a chance that both could start? Once again your manager is put in such a hard position.

The only reasonable tactics RDM can use are:

Drogba playing behind Torres, or either one starting with the other dropped. As a Chelsea fan, who do you want? I'd love to see Drogba and Torres working together but they don't look a pairing. It pains me to say but I'd have to go with Drogba and Torres coming on for either him or a winger in the second half depending on what happens in-game.

Thing is, Torres never plays badly..

He brings so much to the team aside from his goals.... He has had to evolve as a striker and the way he plays due to him not scoring goals. Now if he scores goals now and keeps up his game he will be a massive player for us. Torres all the way imo (Drogba only has 8 PL goals and he is selfish and dives)

My only input on this.

I'm not too fussed, both appear to be really up for it with Robby in charge.

Torres is the future and I badly want him to come good (i.e bang in more goals) but I suspect Drogba among others was rested to play against City and I don't expect that to change because Torres scored at the weekend.

I suspect if you asked the City fans and players who they'd rather face at the moment they would say Torres. For that reason we should probably start with Drogba, he's such a big game player too.

Line up I would go with:

Cech

Ivan
Cahill
Terry
Cole

Lamps
Meireles/Mikel

Ramires
Mata
Malouda (Meireles?)

Torres

<ok>

i would start torres, as has been said he is the future and hopefully he is about to start banging a few in again. If di matteo starts him in front of drogba it can only pump his confidence further and that is what he needs right now. Also i think that the city defence will have drogba on his arse for most of the 90.
