Just putting it out there as a general discussion.
I've heard on the grapevine that Bamba is currently the favourite to take over from NW when and if he retires at the end of the season.
If we do manage to find away to get promoted to the PL, my concern is, is SB the man to lead us ? IMO the championship would be to big a job for Sol ,good player but manager. so Bluebirds my question is to we try something different and follow the trend of a foreign coach which apart OGS we haven't done before, or do we look at Bellamy or someone proven dare I say it pulis to take us to the next level. I wonder if the club have even started looking at potential managers yet. When you look at the managers our jack friends have had over the years since Martinez they have a few decent ones to be fair.
And a few bad ones. I'm a fan of Chris Hughton , but whenever his name is mentioned people seem to dislike him and claim hes not right for our club. So who do you want to see take over when the time comes.

I'd be happy with Houghton.

I said on another thread that if Warnock is going to stick it out to the end of the season, we could do worse than give Houghton a retainer from January so he can stay in the background, get to know the club, run a rule over the squad and put a shopping list together. That way he can hit the ground running as soon as the season ends.

I reckon he would be an ideal replacement in my eyes , done well at Newcastle and Brighton prior to last season. Football generally good to watch to.

Danny Cowley. However doubt we will get him now.

Ive a feeling it may be Sol as well.

I can accept Sol as part of a managerial team but not head man. No experience at all.

Cowley did well at Lincoln. Time will tell, if he is given it, on his ability to turn Huddersfield around. Although 7 points from 9 in last 3 games is a huge improvement.

If we look at lower divisions then Flynn has done brilliantly at Newport.

I like Flynn as well. Similar approach to Warnock, quick transition from front to back although he does like to do it by keeping the ball on the floor. It would be a big step up for him, but we could do worse if we're going back to basics.

If we want someone ready made to bring a different influence to the club, then might have to look abroad like Huddersfield and Norwich did. God knows who that might be but they have been proven to be out there. The problem might be they'll want big bucks to spend.

And they can be hit and miss. First guy did well at t'Udders and then went tits up, second guy there and gone in a flash. Farke has done well at Norwich but will they keep him if they get relegated?

As mentioned, the main UK option remains Hughton. Been there, got the tee shirt. I would be happy with him but the merrygoround will start soon and he is a strong target for many clubs.

We need to get with the times now, whoever it is. I'm not saying we need to play "tippy tappy" football as that crap we witnessed against Fulham was appalling! We do, however need to actually start PLAYING football though <laugh>.

I think back to Scott Young and Danny Gabbidon who had the clubs best interests at heart when they had a spell in charge. I do not think 2 managers / coaches works IMO.
You never see it really in the PL . Sorry ,Flynn not for me atm, to big a Job. We need to be looking at an experienced manager.

I totally agree with your post OS.
I think if Hughtons not available or doesnt fancy it with Tan, then we need to look for a new philosophy and identity. Maybe a change of management style and mindset could attract better players to our club in the future. We all want to see our team back in the PL and staying up and giving teams like Burnley Brighton and right good hiding home and away. Up the city !
