I seem to recall someone stating that Chris Hughton's appointment at Brighton would galvanise both the team and support. I think a return of Curbs would be a raise in spades on that. I cant see it happening but would be overjoyed to be proven wrong.
I don't want Curbs to work for this clown. he won't do it anyway but is just letting the market know the right offer may tempt him. He wouldn't work for a woman and a autocrat. This bloke is ruthless, he will destroy a managers career in a whim. curbs has already two law suits behind him at West Ham and Fulham does he want another one. curbs has one chance left in management and this is not it? What can he do anyway? I would not touch the CAfC job with a ****ty stick
Katrien seems to have read the reports that Luzon was being parachuted in, so she must know how unpopular he would be. Billy Davies turned us down once, when we were in the premier league with money to spend, I don't see him as a candidate. He always wants more money to spend, and is public about it too. But I'm going to enjoy my week or so of optimism until the puff of smoke appears.
Jorge Costa is a name appearing - but I think that's because of his links to CAFC and Liege. RD would do well to speak to Curbs, as AC would be brutal in his truth - that this head coach system rarely works in England and the manager is someone who needs the majority of responsibility. I'd feel confident if Curbs could get in front of him that RD could be persuaded, as AC is very good with his words. If Pulis could get WBA to change their approach, then I live in hope Curbs could do the same. (But Luzon will still be appointed).
Love it to be Curbs. I am not normally one for going back, if you have gone and moved on thats it, you went for a reason so dont come back, but with Curbs i would love it
Without wishing to name drop, my son and I had a chat with Curbs in Bromley in 2013. He said he was very happy with his media life, which includes working for Al Jazeera as a footbll pundit. He must be on a six figure salary and is now 57 years old - why on earth would he agree to bend over every day for RD and his motley crew of Network misfits ? He had 100% control of the playing side in his latter days under Murray. He would have 0% say under Douche. It just ain't going to happen.
Curbs picked the colour of the wallpaper, the backroom staff he even picked the ply of the bog paper. I doubt that he will accept Dr Frankenstein as his new boss. Besides CAFC have a element of fans that treated Curbs like crap. Some remain. Curbs had time to turn CAFC into a handy team, I can't see that he will be given the time or money to do this. It would be painful to see him get booed again by the same idiots that made his mind up to leave out all those years ago. He is to good for us.
Luzon is still bookies' favourite, Karel Fraeye and Dougie Freedman close behind. I've no idea why Freedman is up there, but another Palace import would be the last straw. Roland has to know that if he wants to play to an empty stadium next season Freedman's the man.
If that is the case it means that the delay has just been a smokescreen to appease the fans. But I don't believe that in this case the bookies have any inside knowledge, so I'm keeping an open mind and am hopeful that we'll see a proper Charlton performance on Saturday.
i got in on luzon at 4/1 the way i see it, if we're gonna have a negative, i'll take a positive out of it. to the tune of £125. will fill my car up for the month and maybe buy me fifa 15
Because they know how to manipulate fans. And with a gullible and eager to please bunch as those that 'are the voice of charlton' over on life, they will swallow anything - and believe me when I say anything. Alan Curbs FFS
There's a good cross-section of opinion on CL. Nobody seems to want Luzon though. The fans gave Bob good support even when the football was becoming ghastly to watch, but I can't see Luzon getting the same backing from the fans. He'd better turn things round or we'll be playing in front of Millwall-sized crowds, and those die-hards who are left won't take too kindly to seeing Charlton reduced to a rich man's toy.
Congrats!! Didn't even think to look as I didn't expect the odd's to be that big. Fortunately made £380 off Bob's sacking
