Mark my words, we won't be the last club he manages, be it, Championship or Prem.......The guy gives 100%, just needs to tweek his ability
Taken this club as far as he can, just like his Dad The quality is in the squad, something seriously wrong.
Totally agree, LJ remit is year on year improvement, which he’s achieved , despite the bad recent run we are still in a position to achieve the same this year , if we get to a point where this isn’t achievable only then will his position come under threat . I hope this doesn’t happen , not for LJ’s sake but for City’s sake .
what has past nepotism to do with the present? … This is a very very weak argument to use in the context it is, it actually points to a narrow mind, a sign that singular hate or dislike is based on one thing and irrespective of what transpires before or after the event the presenter of the argument has nothing else to base their argument on... they grasp that small item of the past as they cannot accept anything that the future may deliver that upsets their determination to hold on to possibly the only thing that they believe was right at the time. [ nobody on here can disagree the use of the terminology "nepotism" was not factual, ...I suppose SL giving his son a job doesn't have the same clout? ] LJ left the club, played for some one else became manager for someone else and no one in his family was involved. He was then head hunted by SL because his methods and ideals were seen / been "groundbreaking" in a way. NOTHING to do with nepotism … he was picked on his OWN merits. .
Yep 100% two strikers Fammy great back up,but not top end prolific goalscorer. Weimann runs his butt off -but nowhere near the goals required from the second striker.
He’s excellent at League 1 level. I’m surprised that he hasn’t been snapped up by a team in that league.
Unfortunately and i believe LJ has gone as far as he can. Afobe was a monster loss. Powder Puff up top at present.
Maybe I have inadvertently titled this thread wrongly but I was following the printed title of the article, it's obvious to most that parts of our club is thriving, the stadium and allied businesses are blossoming ( Attendances, food and bar activites, pop concerts, trade events, etc, etc), all commercial activies (Sponsorship, advertising, brand recognition etc, etc) rapidly growing, academy , youth , training and community participation ( education, charity support, health events) all veryy successful, Bristol Sports Ltd and future stadium developments all growing steadily and profitable,I would just say the superstore needs to be looked at and improved as part of the overall enterprise. Recruitment and improvement or quality of our players has improved no doubt, we have progressed over the last 4 years without question from 17th to top ten and then appear to have stalled. So metaphorically speaking Steve Lansdown is off of the hook, Mark Ashton is off of the hook, the players are off of the hook, even LJ is off of the hook ( we have progressed up the table) to a certain extent but we appear as previously mentioned to have now stalled and that is in the area which LJ is completely responsible for, problem is, as we all know we have been here a few times before and that is the area that is not in progress. LJ, I honestly believe deserves the time to sort this weakness out but he must be made aware that his time is limited if he continues to offer the same level of results, SL and MA must not be blinkered and look beyond Johnson and plan for the future with a new vision, they have been very supportive, loyal and trusting to the guy as have most of the fan base but the game and it's successes are based on results and if you fail you should be out of the door, no question.
I don't think we can say we have stalled until the season ends. Look at this time last season, Villa were mid-table with no apparent chance of the play-off, and look what happened there. Far too early in the season to say we are stalling...FFS.
Last 10 games - W3 L6 D1 - Only 3 wins in 10 games - I would say that was cause for concern .......FFS !!!
A season is 46 games, not 10, hopefully, this is just a blip. If after 46 games we are well down the table, then I'm sure SL will re-assess if LJ is the right man to take us forward.
CAN NOT AGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT.... second striker on 9 goals ..half way through season so could finish on 17 -18 [ bearing in mind a lot on here advocate we need a 20 goals a game striker] then he is doing VERY well Absolutely when you take snippets out of the wider picture you can make them do as you wish … you could say last 6 a disaster .. or make it look better by saying last last 12 14 or 16 etc. the truth is we are just 3 points from top 6 not 11th and got no chance! statistics are merely confirmation of what has happened … not a statement as to what will happen. They are an influence on what might happen simply because they form part of the algorithm that tries to predict the future trend
This is not rapidly growing since the departure of Amy Kington. Areas have been scaled back and restructured. I would not be surprised to see the Community trust charity status soon quietly disappearing. The community trust as an organisation is and has been merged into the City foundation.
Fine, I was generalising and did catergorise groups together, I accept your point, no arguments here.
