    Diniz certainly does not justify being mentioned in this thread! Some may mock, but he wasn't a bad driver and is light years ahead of every driver in the author's voting list.

    The only driver i'm unfamiliar with is al pease. Think it's time to get on google.

    what about Bernie Ecclestone? He never qualified for a race did he?

    poor guy, finished 43 laps down in a 90 lap race. Although he does seem to have had some rather bad luck with his f1 career, the rest of that story is aflat battery at the start cost him six laps, the he span it at the part of the track furthest from the pit, the spin, in very wet conditions, caused his engine to become waterlogged and killed the new battery in the process, so he ran back to the pits, picked up another battery, ran back to the car (this is a few miles btw), refit the battery and carried on. Gotta respect his determination to finish. When he finally got to race a few years later he was not only slow, but decided that anyone who wanted to get passed was gonna have to fight for it, hard, regardless of whether they were lapping him for the first time, or tenth, after causing a few crashes Ken Tyrrell had seen enough, made a protest and Al Pease remains the only driver ever to be disq for being too slow.
