Chris - and will you accept your criticism of me was unreasonable for my using the descriptive word - cheat.? - my opinion, my description - don't agree that it is name calling in the normal sense. (Chrispa76 - Now by all means, have any opinion you want, but please try refrain from name calling.)
I think your talking about this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jueSUfEBf18 The title of the video is inaccurate because it says F1 driver but like you mentioned, its not Formula 1.
I think Ide was the only on eto be stripped of his racing license. (although the driver who has caused so much contention on this thread should probably have had his revoked too)
I will accept the fact that just as I wish everyone to respect that we are all different, I must also do the same and respect those who think it is a proper way to debate, by calling someone a cheat. I spent some many hours since last night thinking of what I have written lately and feel I might have been a bit unjust. So no I still do not think it gives something positive to the debate/argument and wish it could be avoided to use such negative words as in my point of view you are not guilty unless every slightest doubt can be eradicated. Sometime I have to bite my lip because I have probably stepped over the line(my line) as well a few times. But I will no longer hold it against you, and respect that you see it differently and find nothing wrong by using such words in that way. I have also seen you post a lot of positive things, which more than makes up for that what I would call unnecessary negativism. Is that fair?
HAHAHA yes thats it! Thank you so very much! Maybe it is just me but I find that absolutely hilarious.. I just wish we could have seen more of the team's reactions doing
Chris- yes thats fair. I would join you in trying to argue for members restraining their use of colourful language, and forms of abuse. I can never condone members trading insults and abuse. Aiming words like mine at drivers is fair game IMO. I suppose where we differ and quite reasonably, is in the view of what is proven and what is not. For me there is a notable current driver who has shown that behaviour, without any doubt, many times in the past. Others may disagree, so for me that word is fine and is not name calling. Hamilton is a hot-head, my term, and reasonable from where I see it. Others will think that is going too far, or is even name calling. In both instances the drivers are very talented, have been at the top of their game, but are just like us - they have failings. I feel we can draw attention to the shortcomings since they are professionals not amateurs, and have to accept followers of the sport (actually more of a business IMO) will criticize. So - its water under the bridge, lets not cross swords - we probably share more common views than is obvious.
@Berg Very beautifully put and well written. You have my fullest respect and I agree with your message. cheers mate
Another thing to try and consider is you don;t know what sort of day the poster may have had. He caught his wife with another man, his boss, who fired him, his wife filed for divorce, and was gonna have custody of his house, kids and his pride and joy an E-Type Jaguar and his golf clubs. His last consoling joy is his F1 forum, on which the first thread is "The driver you dislike the most is the GOAT and here's why". or "Your hero was a lying cheating bastard that is a penchant for roasted orphan. his reply mightn't be polite.
the poster may have been fooled by their significant other half saying ' Oh No. Eddie Jordan is replacing Martin Brundle on Sunday' and was not overjoyed.
I picked Jean Denis Deletraz. nissany doesn't really count, he only did 1 practice session (thankfully), whereas deletraz was heroically useless. and he is also respnsible for one of my favourite murray walker quotes "and what is deletraz doing?"
Luca Badoer doesn't deserve to be on this list. he wasn't too bad for minardi, should have scored points, the Ferrari debacle was hardly his fault.
He scored points for Ligier, Arrows and Sauber. Certainly doesn't make him a reject, in fact he actually turned out to be one of the better pay drivers, certainly of that horrid mid-90's era when they were plaguing F1 grids.
yeah, you can't compare someone who was generally at the back of the pack because of his car and someone who was lapping 6-7 seconds a lap slower than his team-mate.
