Wow and you had to go back to when Rafa was in bloody charge to document this! Whereas every other game we can see Welbeck and Young swallow diving
Selected for its comedy value and the opposition. Let me calm any fears anyone has that Gerrard is no longer a diver with this classic against the mighty Gomel from August Enjoy.
All you've done on this thread is deflect any criticism aimed at Utd players by turning the spotlight on Gerrard and Rodgers, but you cant change that your hypocritical manager fully condones 'diving' by his players and actively tells them to do it. MANCHESTER UNITED please log in to view this image defender Jaap Stam has caused a further stir in his autobiography by claiming that Sir Alex Ferguson please log in to view this image encouraged his side to dive in an attempt to earn penalties when playing in Europe. The Dutchman says that the English players in the squad found it hard to adopt the policy of going to ground easily, but that Ferguson believed that it was fair game on the continent. "It's got to the stage where he has even told us: 'Don't try and stay on your feet if you're in the box and get a slight kick," Hence why a couple of Utd players are on the list.
Thats what I said, Fergie told them to go down if kicked like every other club in Europe. When in Rome as they say, or dive as they often do in Rome and all of Italy He did say wait til you are kicked though, which is the defence for Suarez alot of the time and many other players so..... not diving
Oh and Jaap Stam.... doesnt play for Manchester United Page. Funny how people say I had to go back to the Rafa years when Liverpool fans are going back to 2001, the quote could be from something he said even earlier aswell. O and while we are at it, Liverpool fans have been moaniong quite alot about Pulis calling Suarez on his diving.... Let me just leave this innocent little article here that in no way infers any Liverpool manager would stoop to such level, least not a Liverpool legend.... http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/145388-liverpool-boss-benitez-stands-by-drogba-cheat-comments
Stop the deflection UIR, this isn't about Saurez. Btw in context Fergie never said 'kicked' when telling his players to dive, he said 'a slight kick'
So... A slight kick isnt a kick then? Its always about Suarez, he dived out of his mum at birth after all* *The above may or may not be true, probably not true but diving at birth is a term of endearment in Uruguay
Come on UIR Jaap Stam was a great player for Utd and only got his arse kicked out of OT because he admitted Fergie tapped him up.
May all be true, injuries played a part. Tapping up happens at all clubs at every level so meh. I was just stating that Jaap no longer plays for United, nor for any club. He retired
About Stam, he never stayed at any club for any length of time. Maybe he was a bit of a stirrer. Maybe he was a journey man. Anyway back on topic, I bet theres loads we have missed who dive all the time but we dont pay attention as they dont play for the bigger clubs. Every list of divers I have seen includes players from the bigger clubs and rarely if ever has the ones from other sides. Do they not dive or are we just not arsed about them?
Good point, if Andrew Johnson or Pederson for instance played for bigger clubs they would be vilified more no doubt. Still, better players shouldn't have to resort to this which is what irks many with Suarez, Bale etc. Interesting debate re Fergie/Stam. To be honest, I'm not Fergie's biggest fan but I see him right to a point. Don't want to see cheating in the PL but on the continent sometimes you have to fight fire with fire when playing massive cheats like the Spanish and Italians. I loved it when Drogba was winding up the Barca lot with his play acting last season, they've been doing it for years.
Suarez, surely? Why isn't he on the list? Where's Gerrard? Drogba? Not current EPL, I know, but one of the EPL's worst offenders, at times.
Did you read the title, or the rest of the thread in fact? British only and clearly states 'in the prem'. Therefore Suarez and Drogba are exempt, especially the latter as he is neither British nor in the Prem, it'd be like saying Busquets.
