Don't think we will sign anyone else until the summer

Yeah, I'd go with those two.

Cabaye is very good immediate and long term replacement for Carrick and Shaw is the best young full back around.
Both realistic. Cleverly to the Toon? <laugh>

I reckon we can wait till summer for a centre half.

The last season and this with city showed that in most premiership matches, goal scoring power is the most crucial factor, often papering weaknesses in midfield and defence. If we have improved our firepower with mata we can afford to wait if we can't get the players we want this window. <ok>

Attack is the best form of defence.

When United have had their best defence...... weve had world class attacks.

Its a case of the attack being so good that the opposition are afraid to be to adventurous. They then sit back and eventually crumble.

Not sure what he meant by this, perhaps he was talking about team formation, 442 as opposed to 433. Mata was very effective as a floating 10 for Chelsea but proved at Valencia that he is more than capable (and effective) out wide.

I really don`t think we need a centre half, we have four very good players in this position with Vida, Jones, Smalling and Evans. The problem we have had so far is that no pairing has played more than two games in a row for us yet this season and this is the most important position in the team for building a stable partnership and understanding.

We still need to get a top dynamic CM to control the central midfield. Moyes is (should be if he is not) trying to buy one. Fergie and he can get away in the prem against most teams but in Europe will be found wanting.

Whatever happened with pogba? Did he ask for a huge salary which was turned down by the manager?

No, he demanded playing time which Fergie would not gaurantee him.
